There are many races in the merged lands of the world now being called Nireta, which is close to the Elven words for forceful union. Humans are the prevalent race in
Nireta. Like most Humans every where, they are many varied Humans, dependent on where they live. Ancient
Niretans
had moderate toned skin with red hair and light colored eyes. With the expansion of the Niretan empire, they are now every combination of skin tone, hair color and eye color. The nobility still have a high population of red hair, perhaps because they have tendency to restrict marriages within their social class.
Arashnatar had few Humans when it was settled by Elves over 4,000 years ago. They have since settled most of the Arashnataran lands and are the ruling race occupying Arashnatar now. High Elves are the type of race that settled Arashnatar. However, the lands slightly to the south of Arashnatar were settled by Sylvan or Wood Elves long before they came to Arashnatar. Elderwood, as it is known, is home to many Wood Elves, perhaps the first Elves to venture to that
forest. Along the southern shores of Elderwood and Arashnatar, it is rumored that Aquatic Elves have made their home.
Aurochans are a fierce warrior race, kin to the Dwarves. They tend to make the mountainous regions their home, just as the Dwarves do.
Halflings are considered by most to be the newest race of the lands. They are
a quiet people, content in farming and trading.
There are also half-breeds. By far, Half-Orcs are the most unforgiven of society. Large, usually not very comely, they are the product of the union a Human and and Orc. What they are usually lacking in wit they make up in brute strength. Half-Elves, usually the product of a
Human-Elf relationship, but occasionally a Halfling-Elf relationship, are hesitantly accepted by Humans but less so by Elven culture.
Of the underground races, Drow and Gnome, little is known. It is not yet known if they survived the Joining.
