April 1, 2000

I don't so much hate April 1st, as I hate the people who find this day to be an excuse to be even more obnoxious than they already are... I rant about it at slightly greater length in my writings section, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped..

I added another rant to the writings section, about the emerging usage of the word 'bishounen'.

Not much of any value right now, but I may add some more later today...

April 2/3, 2000 (I started updating on the 2nd, but it's now the 3rd...)

I made a banner for people to use, in case someone wants to link to my page with something more fancy than plain text... I made that because my project is dragging. It never ends. You will find the banner and it's code near the bottom of this page.

Damn!! It really doesn't end, does it.. oh, if the word 'damn' offends you, I direct you to the disclaimer in the box, slightly to the bottom of the update... likewise with any further 'swear words' which may slip out. My goddamn menu doesn't work again... I checked it out, and all that shows up is a white screen with the damn 'yahoo' box inside it... good thing I added the links below in a last updated box... but still, I don't understand why the thing doesn't work again... it finally worked in my editing program, but now doesn't.. it could have been eatten by that damn yahoo box, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't know, and I'm too tired to care. I also noticed many mistakes on my page, but I'd rather rest up for the insane amount of tedium which stands before me, also known as Project 3 of my Studio course, which is due Wednesday night, and involves many many hours of fighting with Solidworks98 and various other graphics programs, and scanning in hand-rendered images, and putting all into a booklet... I have to design a new clip for paper. Joy and rapture, let me at it. So, the last thing I want to do with my spare time is pour over every inch of text on my page, fixing bits which might be worded wrong, or give slightly false info. That's a job for after the paper clip project, and the moronic write-up for Mass Production Technologies, which is due thursday. It just never ends...

April 6, 2000 (second update)

I found out what may be messing up my menu. The script that geocities/yahoo adds to the bottom of every html upload seems to be interfering with my own script... The 'roll-over' works just fine when the geocities/yahoo script is removed, but as it keeps being added, the menu refuses to work. I'm going to try contacting the people at geocities/yahoo, to see if they can do something about it, but for now, I've removed the script, so as to have something besides a blank white bar with a yahoo logo in it... I hope the roll-overs can eventually go back up, because I worked hard on them, and it shouldn't be so difficult to have them up there...

I've finally moved the DBZ notes from my writings section to the anime section. I also added new critiques for the anime critique and for the manga critique sections.

April 6, 2000 (third update)

The roll-overs work now. My friend fixed the menu for me on Dreamweaver, so that it works. I'm just updating with a slightly altered version of it (putting into effect the changes that I made after he had downloaded the version he had fixed). So now, witness the spanky new roll-over images that took so long, and so much effort, and doubled my hitcount just for sheer amount of hits he and I made trying to see if the thing finally workd....

April 7, 2000

It did take a while.. but here is what I have.. it seems like not much, but it took a few hours... the beginnings of a yaoi page, and added to the menu too, which is harder than it looks... Look forward to it's upgraded form. I added some other minor stuff, but it's not important.

Alright! Over a hundred hits, not including mine!! In case anyone actually cares. Oh, it's since March 17, 2000 that I've been counting.

April 9, 2000

I don't have anything to update with yet today, as I've been sick, and working on the model I have to have done for tomorrow (Monday) by 4pm. I may, however, have time to get a few of the descriptions for some of the images up. (I did add an adopted character - Hiei...)

However, here are some things to look forward to: I may do some sort of 'about me' page, even though in a way this whole series of pages are 'about me'... I may also put up some things I've done, like music, and a kisakae doll. There are more pictures waiting to be scanned, and I still have to rearrange the image galleries. The pictures I have will eventually all have their own write-ups when they load. There are several other things I'm working on, which will take a long time to ever make it here, such as stories and comics, so if you think you have the patience for those, they will eventually be here.

April 12, 2000

I put in an application for another adoption... It was a hard decision, too, there were so many good ones to choose from. I thought about getting another Hiei, but it seems greedy to have more than one, so I chose Aburatsubo, the cute redhead from 'I Want To Use Magic'. I'm waiting to hear from the adoption site, 'yaoi no hentais SPCAC', to see if I'm eligible to adopt him. Joy!

I finally finished a story for the yaoi/shounen ai section of my page. It features two of my original characters. However, it has not yet been edited, so it has no title, and one of the characters isn't named yet. That may change, but I doubt enough people will read it for someone to care that the one character is either refered to as 'man' or '(...)'.

I have my single exam on Friday, and studying for it is boring. Mass production technology, and memorizing the facts and numbers that go along with it. Joy. Who cares. I'll try and get some more pictures up, as I have to put together another portfolio, this time to try and get into animation here in Ottawa. Better than Industrial Design...

April 13, 2000

I managed to finish write-ups for the first two sets of Ancient Visuals (1995 and Before). It took much longer than I thought it would. I also added a link above, so that the frames can be accessed if someone somehow gets to the page without going through the frames first. I also slightly updated the shounen ai/yaoi section, mostly the definition of the acronym 'ya-o-i', as I received a slightly varying definition.

April 13, 2000 (second update)

Eek. I had made a mistake several years ago in the template that I made for my page. It wasn't anything big, just a space and a missing letter and quotation mark from the link color specifications... they seemed to have no effect on the page itself, but all of my pages had this mistake in them... boy, is my face red... So I had to go through all the pages, and make those changes.. I slightly revamped one or two of the pages along the way, like bringing some of the text up to date, and fixing what an older program had done to some of my code.. I also made all the division markers colored to match the scheme I seem to have going here. A large update for me, but I doubt it's anything that's noticable for you.

Later today, I'm going to edit my shounen ai story (like giving it a title, and introducing the Sebastian character better...). I may make that 'about me' page, if I have time. Still no word about my latest character adoption. And many many more image write-ups to do. My exam is tomorrow, and I'll be glad to have that piece of garbage behind me... Stay tuned...

April 15, 2000

Well... a funny thing happened to me on the way to write my exam yesterday... Idiot Prof had said 'exam at 2:30', but had not said what room. I got there at what I thought was 15 min late (thank you, always-late buses...), and looked at the sheet, to find out what room they were writing in. The sheet said they had started at 2. I was about 45 min late, and would not be let into the room, no doubt, especially as the prof has it in for me. He had already set up an alternate date for writing, so that some people, who could not write on this day, would be able to write still, but that means I have to go and talk with him. And listen to him lecture. I hate people like that, and may not be able to refrain from hitting him. Which would be detrimental, but satisfying. Blah.

So, today's update is the 'about me' page.

April 16, 2000

I finished the write-ups for the images in the sections 'Before 1995' and 'between 1995 and 1997'. The 'about me' is now accessed from the side menu, even though it's only one page.

April 17, 2000

I finished the write-ups for the images in the first section of the 'inspired by' gallery. I may do some more later, but I'm not feeling all that well lately, so will not guarantee anything.

April 18, 2000

I finished the write-ups for the images in the entire 'inspired by' gallery. I started to add write-ups to the section containing images from after 1998, but didn't get very far... Blah. Still not feeling well.

April 25, 2000 second update

I made a new image for the writings section. I was a little tired of the old one...

I updated my 'about me' page. I guess not many people tend to update things like that, but I tend to forget things the first time around. I didn't add much right away, and I have the feeling that there are more things that I've forgotten to add, so it may be updated again later...

I slightly updated the look of the anime and manga critiques. I'm still not entirely happy with the look of the titles, but until I can think of something better, this will have to do.

(from first update) Updates to the anime critique section - Added a couple more series, as well as adding a listing of the characters I like from each of the series. I'll do the same for the manga critique section later.

I took my story down temporarily from the yaoi/shounen ai section, because it was taking too long for me to edit and title it. I'll put it back when I finish it.

April 26, 2000

I added a little playground for my adopted Hiei to play in... it may make my first page a little slower to load, however.

I sent payment on some animation cels today, and can't wait for them to get here... I have to wait a while, though. I've also been playing too many video games lately... I got a copy of King of Fighters 98 (horrah for Benimaru!) and rented Evil Zone (The vector graphics are ok, but the pieces keep passing through supposedly solid things, and the overdubbing is the worst I've ever seen). I own Saga Frontier, and also bought Saga Frontier 2. I was a little disappointed by the way SaGa 2 tried to be too much like FF Tactics... and I miss the Mystics!!! Also, my disc got a minor scratch on it, but now it freezes whenever I go into a battle. Grrrr....

I'm working on getting to a scanner again. I want to put up more images, if I have enough room on the server. I'll slowly be adding write-ups for the existing images, but it's slower than you'd think...

April 27, 2000 second update)

I added yet more write-ups, plus I took one of the images out of the 'after mid 1998' section, to put it in the yaoi/shounen ai section.

I changed Hiei's 'room' graphic into jpg format, for faster loading (34k of jpg is better than 500k of bitmap... oops). Plus, now my account won't be completely full...

April 28, 2000

I have, so far, received no response to the two requests for 'adopting' a character, on the yaoi-no-hentais SPCAC adoption page. I don't know if they're just very busy, or if they're ignoring me because I have a geocities account, or if their adoption thing isn't working. I'm going to try and email them, to see what's going on.
