North American Sailor Moon: Serena/Sailor Moon

Character Summary

Serena used to be an average teenager with the exception of being a crybaby and having a mixed-up sense of priorities. She loved to eat. She loved to shop. She loved video games and comics-- Sailor V in particular. She never studied, and consequently did horribly on her tests. And to top that off, she would cry at the worst times usually over trivial thing.

Then one day, she was approached by a black cat named Luna (whom Serena had "saved" from some tormenting kids earlier-- see episode 1). Luna introduced herself, said that Serena was the Sailor Scout she had been looking for, and gave her the Transformation Brooch. Serena got over being surprised at seeing a talking cat quick enough.

Upon saying, "Moon Prism Power!" the brooch turns Serena into Sailor Moon. As Sailor Moon, Serena comes up with corny dialog out of nowhere, and often needs help with defeating the current monster. Also, she often gets to give the current monster the finishing move that stops it. When in serious trouble with no other way out, Tuxedo Mask shows up and saves/helps her.

Now that she is a super hero, little has changed in her personal life. She still loves to eat, shop, read comics, play games, etc. Prior to getting her "powers", she wanted to be just like Sailor V, now she views being a Sailor Scout as more work and wishes to be normal again-- sometimes with a passion.

Items

Transformation Brooch -- while wearing this, Serena says, "Moon Prism Power!" to turn into Sailor Moon. This is given to Serena by Luna to fulfill her mission as a Sailor Scout.

Moon Tiara -- while holding this, it spins incredibly fast appearing as a white disk. Serena then says, "Moon Tiara Magic!" and throws it like a discus. This is part of Serena's costume while she exists as Sailor Moon.

Lunar Pen -- while holding this, Serena says, "Disguise Power!" followed by a vague description to disguise herself as a person with that description. This is given to Serena by Luna to help her fulfill her mission as a Sailor Scout. Although it is meant to be used in serious situations where a disguise could come in handy, that doesn't stop Serena from using a few times for personal use.

Crescent Moon Wand -- while holding this, Serena moves this in a large circular pattern and says "Moon Healing Activation" to revert a changed human. This is given to Serena by Luna to help her fulfill her mission as a Sailor Scout. Luna said that it had belonged to the Moon Princess.

Emperium Silver Crystal -- while holding this, usually mounted to the Crescent Moon Wand, Serena says, "Cosmic Moon Power!" to let out a powerful energy blast. When Queen Serenity trapped the Invincible Shadow in it, the crystal shattered into seven rainbow colored crystals-- each piece containing a Shadow. The key to reforming the Emperium Silver Crystal was pure Love, a concept that the minions of the Negaverse didn't understand. Neflyte had almost figured this out when his star crystal reacted to Molly's feelings towards him. Then Neflyte was killed. Afterwards, Zoisite found the all of the Rainbow Crystals, and she and Malachite brought them together to no avail. When Tuxedo Mask was struck down, Serena's Love caused the Emperium Silver Crystal to reform in Serena's teardrop from the seven Rainbow Crystals.

Star Locket -- this is the item Princess Serena gave Prince Darian one-thousand years ago. Its music cheers Serena up when she is feeling down. This was dropped by Tuxedo Mask and found by Serena.

Star Brooch -- while holding this, Serena says, "Moon Star Power!" or "Moon Crystal Power!" (depending on when the episode was translated) to turn into Sailor Moon. This is given to Serena by Queen Serenity when her Transformation Brooch shatters due to lack of will. The Emperium Silver Crystal is kept inside, and it will change Serena back into the Moon Princess when her will is once again strong enough.

Moon Scepter -- while holding this, Serena says, "Moon Scepter Elimination!" and an energy bolt hits her enemy. She usually uses this as a finishing move. This is given to Serena by Queen Serenity when her lack of will causes her Moon Tiara attack to fail.
