Lewis is hoping Lydia will think this page is cooler than the last. Let's see if he's right.
Presenting Lewis Chao's condensed version of L.J. Smith's Dark Visions 3: The Passion.
A dog barked, shattering the midnight silence. Kaitlyn felt the touch of his mind like a searing caress and then the world exploded in pain.
"Kaitlyn!" Guilt stricken, Kaitlyn froze in place.
Blank your mind! Kaitlyn told herself. Kaitlyn tensed her muscles and then he was on her.
Gabriel was blocking the world out, but the scream came through. "Gabriel," she said in a grating whisper, "get her the hell out of here."
Kaitlyn stared at Joyce in dismay. Then she realized it was somebody opening the lab door behind her.
What does a spy do when she's caught? "Kiss me, Kait."
Kaitlyn was shaking her head at him. "Mr. Zetes has a job for us."
Kait hurried toward Joyce's car with a knot in her stomach. "If anybody sees us here, we've had it."
Kaitlyn stared down the hall until she saw red afterimages. What have I done?
It wasn't her usual style. "There's no help anywhere, no hope!"
Kaitlyn sat on Lydia's bed with the black dress on her lap. Eyes on the door, she pulled at the tape with her fingernails, tearing the note free.
The man at the airport and the lady with the pitchfork are dead. A scream of perfect terror.
At first all Kaitlyn was able to take in was her feeling of disgust and horror. Then: Kaitlyn!
Gabriel was frightened. And Kaitlyn heard footsteps on the stairs.
"Rob, go back!" Kaitlyn screamed aloud. "Please come up with us," she said to Gabriel, and he nodded, smiling politely, like a stranger.
"So you're not a psychic vampire anymore," Lewis said to Gabriel as they reached the dining room. "Hold that smile!" Lewis shouted, and snapped their picture.
Uh oh. Looks like Lydia thinks Lewis is a bigger dork than Sean Dulany. Oh, well. It was a cute idea, wasn't it? Just like Lewis.
