Second Floor: Dark Visions

Lewis Chao's Rooms

Lewis Chao was kind of a dork. Everyone knows that. But he was a cute dork, and very sweet. So I thought his page should be sort of dorky, but cool.

I decided that it would be interesting to see what kind of story I'd get if I used the first and last lines from each chapter of a book-in this case, Dark Visions 1: The Strange Power. For a complete synopsis of the book, go to Kaitlyn's Rooms.

You don't invite the local witch to parties. "Don't you remember me?"

The woman did seem familiar. But when she turned, the dream ended.

Kait got off the plane feeling giddy and triumphant. "Hey, Kaitlyn, come quick!"

Kaitlyn hesitated, still looking down the stairs. An instant later, the door to Kaitlyn's room silently closed.

By the next morning, Kaitlyn had forgotten about the strange visit. Kaitlyn was about to sit up and tell Joyce that she'd ruined the experiment when the screaming began.

It was very loud even though it seemed to be coming from far away. And he was coming straight at her, very quickly.

Fight, Kait decided. "Are you afraid, Kaitlyn?"

Lie, Kaitlyn thought. The air between them seemed to shimmer.

It was as if Rob were seeing her for the first time. The room was full of pale morning light, and the shouting was real.

The shouts were distant and muffled, but unmistakably hysterical. In absolute silence, with its lips peeled back and the hair on its back bristling, the dog in the living room was stalking toward Anna.

Everything happened too quickly for Kaitlyn to take in. "Just tell me how."

Kaitlyn stared into the darkness where Gabriel was sitting. Aloud he said, "Could somebody pass that orange juice, please?"

They met at lunch, and Kaitlyn and Rob told about everything they'd found in Mr. Zetes' hidden office below the stairs. Talking in a place where no one could hear them.

Kaitlyn hurried downstairs and slipped out the back door. She looked at Gabriel-and felt a shock that sent chills up from her feet.

Because Gabriel didn't look as if he found it insane. If I could draw in my mind...

Even as Kaitlyn thought it, she was doing it. And when she looked into Rob's golden eyes, she knew that it was going to be alright.

Well. Wasn't that sort of amusing? Too bad Lewis was never mentioned! But he did scream.

On to Dark Visions 2: The Possessed
Forget that piece of romantic drivel! I love Jackal Mac and Renny!
