Cerridwen Varia is a young Altaran whose life has been lived on the streets of Ebou Dar. At the age of sixteen she was offered two marriage knives practically at once, spurring a duel which neither combatant survived. Something of a vixen, Wen is a dark mysterious beauty. She has perfect skin, a dark complexion, incredibly dark brown eyes, and almost black flowing hair. She is not very tall, only 5'3", but she has the body of a goddess. Men have literally been killing for her, and she has developed quite an ego. This ego hides a fearful interior, however, which constantly wonders if anyone will ever try to look beyond her face and body to find her mind, heart, and soul. Wen worked as a singing girl in a tavern and was noticed by a gleeman who took her with him on a visit to a Noble home outside the city of Ebou Dar. At the Noble's estate an Aes Sedai happened to be staying, under cover as a Lady of stature, and coming near to Cerridwen discovered that the girl could learn to channel. Agreeing to follow anywhere that could take her out of her poverty, Wen went with the Aes Sedai back to Tar Valon. Her last night in the tavern she informed one of the regulars who had hoped to give her a marriage knife that she would no longer be working in the city. The choker that she had worn since he asked if she might consider his offer went into her small bag of belongings as she headed off for the island city of the Aes Sedai.
