Name: Jubilee
Real Name: Jubilation Lee
Age: 13 (supposedly. There's a lot of different views you can look at this. I personally think she is closer to 15)
Place of Birth: Beverly Hills, California
First Appearance: The Uncanny X Men #244
Powers: Posseses the mutant power to generate explosive energy plasmoids. Also has low level telepathy (which is just beginning to surface).
Background: Daughter to a very rich family, Jubilee was raised in Venice, but unluckily for her, her parents were murdered by some criminals while they were in their car. Luckily for her, Jubilee wasn't with them. The only option left to her was going to live with her neighbours, a couple of arrogant people, so she prefered to run away and lived alone in the streets.
Her mutant power consists of producing what she calls fireworks,a sort of plasma energy that she can direct towards any target. The fact is that, although she is able to change the intensity of this energy, she is afraid to use it at full strength (once, she blew up a house) so she joined Generation X to get better control of her powers (Jubilee's power has been explained as the ability to detonate things on a molecular level).
While wandering in a mall in the USA, she followed the X-Women to Australia through a gate of Gateway, hiding herself in the complex where they lived, so when the whole team disappeared through the Perilious Siege and Wolverine was caught by The Reavers, she helped him to escape, following him everywhere for a long time. Since then, she's had a long standing relationship with Wolvie. In a way, he thinks of her as his daughter, and she thinks of him as a father.
Later, when Wolverine lost his adamantium skeleton and left the group, she stayed with the X-Men, but felt a little out of place,
until the Phalanx arrived. Then she joined Banshee, Emma Frost and Sabretooth, she fought it, saving the butts of the next generation of mutants.
In my humble opinion, Jubilee is the best character of Generation X. She's been around longer than the other teammates and deserves more attention. That is why I am very glad to see that the cover of Generation X #26 has her goin' solo with a big-ass gun. I think she proved in this issue that she is a force to be reckoned with. Since that shot was shown, she has been taken hostage by Bastion who forced her to reveal information about the X-Men so that he may do as he pleases (which is break into the mansion, gather all the information he can on them and, not only expose them to the world, but also destroy them). However, this did not come easy to him. Jubilee has a latent telepathic ability which made it much harder for him to scan her mind for the valuable secrets. She has also come to know the young girl Daria, who is Bastion's assistant.
