Close by the door
He passes the stand
As he took his class ring
From her hand
All who were watching
Could not speak
As a silent tear
Ran down his cheek
Memories of moments
When they had fun
As they laughed
Under the flowing sun
Remembering
He tried to be free
How he hurt her
He could not see
Her dark brown eyes
Have not yet turned cold
He no longer
Had her to hold
He whispered "I love you"
As he bent down near
The words so soft
None could hear
On his finger
He placed his ring
Hoping for forgiveness
It might bring
He said good-bye
And gave her a kiss
That special girl
He'd only miss
The door was closed
His head hung low
As they carried her casket
Through the snow
