Echek:

The Echek product is another tool to update module parameters and monitor engine activity. The development environment consisted of a PC with Borland 4.x C++ compiler with debugger. The code was developed and unit test on the PC. After the code was tested on the PC it was build, using the Introl compiler and downloaded to a ram cartridge for test on the final platform. The Echek Communicated with the engine module through an RS485 port using SAE standards J1708 and J1587, and to a printer on an RS232 port. The processor was a 16 bit processor. The activities I was involved with consisted of Developing, modifying and testing software in the previously mentioned environment. The initial project was from 12 to 18 months, depending on the engine products it supported. The modification cycle was from 3 to 6 months from requirements to delivery. There are 6,000 units in use at the present time.

compulink:

The compulink product is a tool to update module parameters and monitor engine activity. The development environment consisted of an apollo workstation with the Intermetircs C compiler and the Intermetrics symbolic debugger. The compulink Communicated with the engine module through an RS485 port using SAE standards J1708 and J1587, and to a printer on an RS232 port. The processor was a 16 bit processor. The activities I was involved with consisted of modifying and testing software in the previously mentioned environment. The modification cycle was from 6 to 12 months from requirements to delivery. There are 300 units in use at the present time.
