Alan Parsons Project

9 November was a great day. The Alan Parsons Porject gave a big concert in Vredenburg Utrecht. It was their second concert here in holland, the day before the where in Nijmegen. At this moment their touring through Europe to promote their new cd, The time machine. I have the cd for some weeks now and it's very good. The cd is somewhat different then the golden oldies, but it's real goed. I even have taped a video clip fromthe time machine on TMF, a dutch music channel.

When we arrived at the concert it was crowded with people. We even where affraid for bad seats, but when we entered the arena we sure where surprised. The most perfect places where not taken yet... a place realy close to the stagen... leaning with your arms on the stage.... just 2 meters from the band... ;-) We had to wait for a while... but I can tell you, it was worth it.

The concert started with a great light show on the Time machine. after that the band came on stage. They song from their new cd and from the albums gaudi and pyramid. Then Mr. Alan Parsons Himself introduced Tony Hadley from the spandau Ballet. Tony song Out of the Blue, from the alan parsons cd and after that he treated us with 3 songs from the spandau ballet. It was good. During the concert I heard four songs from the Alan Parsons Project wich where unknow for me.

Last year I also have been to a concert from the Alan Parsons Project, in Groningen. This concert was just as good, maybe even better then last year. Again they had a very good light show and above all that a good music installation. The band was not the same as last year, they replaced the bass-guitarist by a very young man.... He needs more experience... but was not bad at all.

When you're standing so close to the stage you can see al lot... funny things, like Tony Hadley sticking his tounge out to the drummer... why... well I think that even the drummer didn't know why... ;-) Tony Hadley is a funny man... standing there on the stage with his glas of wine... acting weird. He also could dance good.... I had to pull my hand of the stage.. or he would have staped on it... 5 centimeters... real close ;-) And I also caught one of his many swetdrups....

The end of the concert was even greater.... Mr. Alan Parsons gave me a hand... I shook hand with him... ehm..... I can't describe that feeling... it's greater then great... If that wasn't enough.... He was singing cd's in the loby... Too bad I already had a cd... but I wanted that autograph... on the concert ticket! He told all who asked to sign the ticked that he only signed cd's...grr.... Of course I was a little bit disapointed, but we didn't gave up... Most of the people had left, when we asked Mr. Parsons if he could PLEASE sign the ticket, because I already had the cd. He was sceptic and asked us to name two songs of the album...that was not so hard... so I got my autograph on the concert ticket... You know whate the most funny part of this is... Well the person behind me.. also treid to get the autograph on his ticket... but he had no luck ;-)

It was a great evening... with many luck and great moment. I wil not forget these moments soon...

As soon as my scanner works under windows 2000 I will scan the cd and the concert ticket and place it here on the site... ;-)
