Greetings, Weird Al.

First, if I have not done so already, let me briefly introduce myself. I am Blackwolf the Dragonmaster, Duke of Talisker --- Master Mage and Unofficial Sorcerer-in-Residence unto the Mortalfolk of the City, County and State of New York. Needless to say, I and my fellow eccentrics are equally as saddened as you have been over the loss of your beloved parents; as you have rightly said, you are not alone in your grief.

In fact, let me go so far to say on the record that we, your fellow eccentrics --- for some of whom you have clearly made quite a difference over the years --- stand ready to serve as your surrogate family.

Individuals such as Thor the Barbarian, Master Thoth, Debbie D, the Naked Cowboy, the weirdos from Lloyd Kaufman's Troma, and myself --- we have styled ourselves eccentrics because we believe that there are some types of species Homo sapiens who lack that most remarkable, and perhaps that most precious of God's gifts: Imagination!

This very website, Blackwolf the Dragonmaster's Dark Chambers, was founded primarily on the notion that every person in the Multiverse must use their imaginations in a responsible, and meaningful fashion. Clearly, Weird Al, throughout your entire career, you have repeatedly demonstrated just how responsible your particular imagination is. That could not have been possible without the help and support of the two that brought you into this miracle called Life.

We take seriously what the miracle of imagination represents; the joy of sharing happiness with others, and the willingness to do our own thing in our own way, and to do so in a fashion others would consider as something other than, quote-unquote, "normal." We do what we do simply because we are no longer convinced that this is a 'normal' world; I, for one, gave up on such notions aeons ago!

Still, that Nick and Mary fervently and wholeheartedly supported you means a lot not only to us, your fans, but also to the world that embraced you for many, many years.....

Though we will indeed respect your privacy during this painful period, know that we will embrace you, Suzanne, Nina and the entire Yankovic family. Indeed, let me be the first to invite you to contact any or all of us if you need us. I will be more than happy to e-mail you privately with our various web and e-mail addresses if you need them.

In closing, a sensible thought: loving one's parents has always been something I have taken pride in from the moment I first came to present-day New York City; since then, I have always smiled whenever I have seen a mother and child at play. Being New York's Unofficial Wizard, I know what it is like to understand the power of love. My one prayer is that, when little Nina grows up, she will discover for herself just how wonderful the glories of this Life truly are.

And if nothing else, be not afraid to shed a tear. Besides, even a good sniffle or two --- especially when armed with a trusty hankie --- can be grounds for a jolly laugh. But only if you look at it the right way, and learn from it.

In that respect, then, I offer my condolences to all the Yankovics; and in so doing wish them every happiness. Love one another, and be well.

Fearlessly yours,

Master Blackwolf
