"Look, Captains, if you want, I could hook you up with the Rebellion. They could help you." offered Jayelle.
"What kind of help?" asked Captain Craig of the Challenger.
"Getting home, fending off the Empire once you got there, you know, HELP."
"How do you know that the Empire is in our home space?" asked Sisko.
"Look, it doesn't take a temporal scientist. There was a massing of Imperial ships who suddenly dissappered. Where do you think they are?"
"Good point. Take us to your leaders."
"Sure thing. I'll send a message to Mon Mothma and Adm. Ackbar as soon as I get back to my ship."
"Have the repairs been completed on the Interdictor?" Yung asked one of the officers
"Yes Sir." Replied the officer
"Then prepare the fleet to enter the anomoly once it is created"Yung ordered. The officer ran off to the other officers and told them their orders. The SSD released the quantum particles to create the anomaly. Once the anomaly grew to accomodate the whole fleet they entered. The fleet came out of the anomaly 9000 Kilometers away from Enterprise, Voyager, Defiant, Challenger and the Rebel Fleet.
How the hell did they get here?!" Yung yelled out in frustation. I can't believe it. First, those stupid Romulans kill out interdictators with a few lucky shots, now we face the Rebels and the aliens?
" All destroyers cover each other's backs. Stay in battle formation Gamma nine," Yung ordered. " Let's get out of here. We have to regroup with the rest of the invasion fleet." Next time... we will attack with a thousand ships. There is no point in losing a few good ships to Rebel and alien attacks needlessly.
"Wait, first, tell me their strength."
" Scanning Rebel fleet.... they have..." an officer said. " about twenty Mon Calamari cruisers and ten frigates. We can easily crush them at will."
" Not today. We have nothing... unless......" Yung looked thoughtfully at the small alien warship for a moment.
" Prepare to lock tractor beams on that ship," he said, pointing to the Defiant on the viewscreen. " All ion batteries prepare to battage it. Tell all destroyers to defend against the Rebels, but not to follow them."
Sisko wiped his head with his sleeve. He looked at the viewscreen, studying the Imperial fleet. Searching for an opening for the Defiant to slip through with minimum damage. " Can we get by without sustaining damage?"
Dax turned and looked at him. " Not with a thing that size there." Everyone on the bridge stared at the Super Star Destroyer for a moment, then went on their planning for passage back home. " The Imperial fleet is blocking the whole anomoly. If they wanted to, they could kill us all," Dax said, plotting possible courses around the SSD. " However, I don't think it's their intention this time."
" Dax, plot a course to 101 mark 589," Sisko said with an edge to his voice. " Prepare to go to warp one."
" Ben, that will take us right across the bow of the SSD!"
" He's right," O'Brian said." They won't expect a move like that. Besides, their gunners can't resond to warp power."
" Dax... on my mark, go to warp. Just wait for the right time... Now!"
" Captian, the alien ship is preparing for warp!"
" Interdicators at full power!" Yung said loudly." Ion batteries prepare..." The Defiant ripped through space in an explosion of light, heading right for the interdictation field that was jsut forming. As the small warship entered it, a brilliant green explosion occured, spreading unearthly gases all though space. The SSD's ion batteries opened fire.
" We made it!" Dax said with a slight grin. The Defiant sliced through space, but slowly dropped out of warp in their side of the universe.
" Damage?" Sisko asked. "
We just somehow lost HALF OUR ANTIMATTER!!?!?!?"
" What?" O'Brian said in disbelief.
" Let me run a scan... No, no other damage, but HALF the antimatter?" Dax said.
" Scan the battle zone," Sisko ordered.
" Sir, picking up a small ship that wasn't in our fleet at the edge of the interdication field. It's disabled. It's Federation ship."
" Onscreen." The viewscreen blinked from a starfield to the image of a SSD tractor beaming a small ship into its hangar bay. The Destroyer fleet now was in their universe once again. " Magnify." The screen blinked to show the small ship in increible detail. It had a rugged hull, and all the lights were off as a result of the ion strikes. But everyone on the bridge knew what it was. They were staring at the USS Defiant. Now, for some reason, there were two. Everyone's mouth on the bridge was slightly hanging. O'Brian was the first to speak.
" You DO know what this means, don't you? Now... the Empire... has transporters, phasers, better sensors, better shields..."
Sisko finished his sentence. "... and quantum torpedoes."
