Norman Osborne under stress from his son’s drug addiction, reverts back to his ‘Green Goblin’ persona. The Goblin blames Peter Parker, who he know is Spider-Man, for his son’s condition and looks for a way to hurt Spidey as much as he believes Spidey hurt his son. The Green Goblin Finds a way. Spider-Man’s true love, Gwen Stacy. The Goblin kid naps her and leaves a hint to Spidey. Spidey eventually finds the Goblin and Gwen at the top of the Washinton Bridge with an unconscious Gwen. The Goblin offers Spidey a deal, allow himself to be killed or watch his girl get killed, then be killed. Spider-Man doesn’t go for either option and starts a fight. During the fight, the Goblin knocks Gwen off the bridge, Spidey dives to the edge and shoots out a web line to stop Gwen’s fall. He does catch her, but the sudden stop snaps her neck.
