TOY REVIEW
Name: J-Seven
Allegiance: Cybertron
Function: Sonic Security Officer
Vehicular Mode: Rail Star 700 Bullet Train
Average Price: 1980 JPY
VEHICLE MODE
Length: 21cm.
J-Seven transforms into a Rail Star 700 Bullet Train.
Although this is the latest model of Japanese bullet trains, it is not
the fastest. The Rail Star 700 was designed for comfort and luxury cruising.
The colour scheme is mainly grey. Also, it sports the Rail Star logo. In
real life, it would also have a JR (Japan Rail) logo, but in this toy it
has been replaced by a Cybertron (Autobot) insignia. There is also a coupling
unit and eight wheels below. The rear of the train has some robot kibble
sticking out in the form of the robot toes. All windows are made of transparent
plastic parts.
TRANSFORMATION ROBOT MODE
Firstly, open the mid-section of the windows. Remove roof.
Remove the coupling unit and place it behind the train. Turn the rear section
180 degrees and pull out, forming robot toes. Turn the wheels to form robot
heels. Open side sections and rotate elbows and wrists to form arms. Fold
down the front section of the train. Open the top of the train and lift
up robot head. Close top. Rotate the spikes at the back of the sceiling
component removed previously. Attach the coupling unit onto robot shield.
The coupling unit can be inserted into the fist to be used as a club.
ROBOT MODE
Height: 17cm.
J-Seven is a very slender grey and black robot. The head
is yellow andthe upper arms and thighs are black. Numerous transparent
mechanical decos can be seen throughout the toy including the sides of
the knees. There are two wheels on each sole of the foot. Unlike other
Team Shinkansen ("Team Bullet Train") members, J-Seven's waist can turn.
However, the head articulation is somewhat restricted. This toy can fire
a missile from its shield and features twelve points of articulation.
OVERALL
Rocket thrusters on the soles of the feet suggests that J-Seven
can fly. However, in the TV show, none of the Car Robots can fly. However,
since J-Seven transforms into JRX's wing,
perhaps he has a need to fly (IMHO).
