Creatures is a game distributed and supported in the U.S. by MINDSCAPE (a good overview site) and developed in the United Kingdom by CYBERLIFE.(many links to creatures related sites, upgrades and other downloads).

Players of this game are quite devoted to it. There are so many possibilities.

There are countless web sites on the Internet that are either devoted to or contain parts that refer to Creatures. There is a newsgroup,ALT.GAMES.CREATURES And someone hosts a forum.

The image seen here is the incubator. You place eggs from the hatchery or laid by your Norns into this and it allows you to have some control over the hatching process.
