Now, let's talk a little about the 'supposed' planetary alignment slated for May 5th`2000....You may have heard about it but I don't think anyone should really be getting excited much at all.....see, it's really no big deal and here's why..

For one thing, the planets won't be anywhere near an exact alignment. Also. this one only refers to the seven planets known to the ancient world: sun, moon, mercury, venus, mars, jupiter and saturn...The outer planets won't be included in this alignment. Granted, the planets will all appear 'clustered' in a relatively small portion of the sky but this is known to happen several times each century....in fact a similar occurance happened just this past fall...!!

Astrologers and their like will be the only ones who truly get much out of this decidedly non~event....but on 5/5/00 the rest of us will be doing the same ole, same ole....and the clocks will continue to tick away.....so no big deal at all

Armageddon, due out July 1st is basically 'Die Hard in a Space Shuttle, starring, you guessed it, Bruce Willis....and the movie Lost in Space will be out this spring (this one starring the young boy from Star Trek, The Next Generation as Will Robinson....look for ί~Hive movie reviews in future issues...

...and finally, Pluto and it's moon Charon are the focus of a possible upcoming NASA mission to find out if this tiny planet is indeed a planet or just a pair of large asteroids floating around the Kuiper belt outside Neptune. It seems that photographic evidence is popping up all over the place, showing unexplainable and very mysterious anomolies in places where we would least expect them...I'm talking about the moons of the gas giants, SATURN and JUPITER..!!...I think we all agree that life would be impossible on those planets themselves, but on their moons..??, well that's another story...and it all comes down to this...I believe that somewhere else in this galaxy, and maybe even this solar system, there is or was other life forms at one time or another...I feel this way because it is simply too arrogant of man to think that we are the only intelligent life in the universe...even though this is what the church would like you to believe...

Let's start with Saturns moon MIMAS...now I've seen images of many impact craters on earth and elsewhere, but never have I ever seen one with a shaft (cinder cone) protruding straight up in the center..!!...crater shapes with shafts are common on earth but they are not impacts..!!...THEY ARE PARABOLIC RECEIVERS..!!...and this, my friends, looks an awful lot like a parabolic to me.(or even the Deathstar from Star Wars)..in fact, the mother of all parabolic receivers if I do say...Nasa claims the center of this so called crater is almost as high as Mount Everest itself..so I ask you, what is the cinder cone doing in the center of this impact crater..??..I've seen many images of craters and none have a cinder cone like MIMAS.!!

...and now on to Ganymede Now this one is very weird people...as the Gallileo spacecraft continues to orbit Jupiter, sending more and more images from the gas giant and it's moons, we're beginning to see some strange anomolies....so unusual as to baffle planetary geologists....see for yourself in the image below what it is that I'm talking about...I will tell you first that circles are common in the solar system, usualy formed by either impacts or by volcanic activity...and a fairly straight line here or there is not all that uncommon either....BUT a half circle...???...topped off with strange, almost straight lines WITH YET TWO MORE STRAIGHT parallel lines above those..???....THIS IS EXTREMELY uncommon...!!! in fact, it's one of a kind......

on the bottom of the circle is an ancient river bed...the half circle is actually an ancient walled city...(or maybe even a moat)...the straight parallel lines on the top might have been an ancient airstrip of sorts....CLICK HERE to view the full size image...

....all of this can't stop me from thinking about the CYDONIA region of MARS...many other, as yet unexplained, anomolies fill this region, too, only it's a lot closer to home...

The Final Cut

...As you're reading this, PIONEER10 is more than 6 billion miles from Earth and radio contact is fading fast. In fact, by next Xmas, the little spacecraft that could will be too far to continue contact..

Pioneer10 was launched over 25 years ago as the first probe to Jupiter. It's still streaking away from us at a whopping speed of over 500,000 miles per day..!!..Right now, it's somewhere deep inside the Kuiper belt ouside of Pluto's orbit and will continue on forever into deep space...NASA predicts that in about 30,000 years it will encounter another star....

Will Pioneer10 become the 'VGER' of Star Trek fame..??...you and I will never know.....To Pioneer10, right now, our sun is just a bright star and nothing more...as T.S Elliot would say "rage, Rage against the dying of the light"...but in parting, I will say "boldly go where no man~made machine has gone before..."
