My experiences with this genre in moving picture media:
The first Cyberpunk film I saw was the NET staring Sandra Bullock and this has now become a Friday and Monday night television show with too much violence.
The next Cyberpunk film I watched also on video was Johnny Mnemonic and I have seen it twice. I saw the television episode of the X-Files entitled Kill Switch. Both the film and the TV episode involved William Gibson.
I have seen a film might be considered Cyberpunk called War Games and it is an older film made in I think 1984.
One might consider Golden Eye a late James Bond film to be Cyberpunk but then many spy films use computers and spy tech and there are James Bond films about computers and microchips like A View To Kill.
The latest film I have seen that is a Cyberpunkfilm was Hackers. This is sort of a B-Movie look at professional security and also youth culture. The film is full of youth culture such as skate boards, TV and clubs.
I have seen Matrix a film now on video. This had the same star as Johnny Mnemonic, Keenu Reeves. This film relied on philosophy. The philosophy of the question 'What is reality?'. Is it what we taste and sense? Or is it really a computer simulation?
