2/28/01- Oops...
Heh... I meant to update sooner about this. Eight days ago I went shopping for a specific item. What item? Duh... the Clerks: Uncensored DVD. I went to three places and they didn't have it. The fourth place did. Good old Best Buy. Anywho... the next step is to get access to a DVD player. I may be able to buy one of my own but hopefully I can rent one or something. I'm saving that money for something important. Uh... I guess that's it for now. See ya.
2/14/01- Anniversary!
Yep... It's been one year since this mini-site was set up. One year ago I decided to set up a little site dedicated to a cartoon show I was ever so happy about. Not only that, but in 6 days the DVDs will be available to the public. Oh how I have been waiting. Otherwise no news here. I reccomend you go to News Askew if you really want some news. Though I still have yet to figure out how I'm going to be able to watch the DVD's after I buy them. Hmm...
12/27/00- Hooray for Holl...er... someone.
Ok... this is old news but I might as well say it. Clerks Sell Out, is the current name of the movie that, as far as I can tell, will be made. That's right animated Clerks up on the big screen. I like it, I hope you do. As for the DVD set in February... I plan on buying it despite the fact that I don't have a DVD player.(Mom decided that we didn't really need one.) Oh well... it's something.
11/17/00- I love you, Mommy!
I would have said it a few days ago but I'm extrememy lazy. I got a copy of Clerks(The Comic Books) the other day. Stopped in Borders and convinced my mom to buy it for me. It's so cool, I love it. Maybe I'll have a few scans of it up soon. Other than that... I saw a guy who looked like Jason Lee as he looked in Almost Famous. *shrug* Uh... later.
11/3/00- Huzzah!
Ok... I'm a bit late with the info. But I now know the release date of the VHS/DVD of Clerks. February 20. Yep. A little trip over to News Askew, scrolled down and there it was. I'll be going for the DVD of course. (Hopefully mom will get herself that DVD player for Christmas.) Almost a year to the day of this site opening, too.
9/23/00- Hey Skip!
Ahh... I love updating without having to upload anything. Anyway, why am I updating at all? I just saw a Mumford on Stars. Jason Lee played a young billionaire. And... (I know, he wasn't even in Clerks, but I've mentioned him before.) I thought he was great. You get reminded that he was a pro skater before he started acting. (There's this really awesome shot you just have to see.) Damn... you'd think I was changing this to a Jason Lee Fan site. He's so much better than Leo De'whatsisface.
8/15/00- Ooh, pretty...
Yesterday while looking at one of my favorite online comics(Josh Babes) I discovered a little fan art of Silent Bob. Hehe... It's pretty cool. Check it out here. Well, that's all I got. Hope you like. ^_^
7/03/00- An update! What on Earth for?!
That's right, a reason to update. The latest Waaazup! parody to hit Newgrounds is a clerks version. It's pretty strange. Clerks Waaazup Parody By the way, the DVD(s) is/are going to be loaded with little extras. Makes it even more worth the buy. (not that I wasn't going to buy anyway) Gonna be a while, so watch the stores.
6/21/00- You're a cigarette!
Another week without. I'm only here because Clerks was listed at 9:30 PM in the paper. Sat through half an episode of Drew Carey untill I got a comercial for Spin City. So I came up here. Almost a quarter to 10 now. Anyway, I finally caught Survivor. Hmm, not bad.
6/14/00- Disney has taken Clerks away from you
Well, it's official. The show has been canceled. Only two episodes and it gets the boot. The only good news is that I won't have to make a new page for my third review. When I started this site there weren't any problems with the show. It was going to air in March. It was going to be just fine. If I had known this show was going to go to the crapper, I probably wouldn't have even made this site. Now I say goodbye until I have a reason to update. Currently I have none. :(
6/14/00- Flag Day
Today is the moment of truth. I'll be downstairs around 9:30 to see for myself if the show is canceled. If I see an "up next: Spin City" I will have to admit defeat. But this site will not be closed down. I am a rather stubborn person. I won't give up that easily. There is still a plan to release the episodes on VHS and DVD. I will buy both of course. And, if you've been paying attention, you'd know that a movie is being talked about.
6/11/00- Sunday Paper I held my breath as I turned the pages in my latest TV paper to Wednesday night. Clerks was still listed there. I'll be optomistic about it and turn on ABC at 9:30 PM on that day anyway. Please do this too. I'm just assuming it will air. If it does I'd hate to thing fans weren't watching because they thought it was canceled. I have this very odd feeling that all six episodes will air on TV. Whether or not it's week after week or a few months from now. We'll see. Oh, and I forgot to add the new link in the links section. Will do so in a moment.
6/09/00- Confusion
Went and checked out ABC to see for myself. Clerks is still listed as being aired next Wednesday. Very odd. Stories at News Askew say different. I have a new link to ABC's Clerks site. The message board over there is scary.
6/09/00- I ain't over yet, folks
A little news for ya. Looks as if episode 3 will air as promised. Looking in my Entertainment Weekly today, in the "What to watch" section, the next episode of Clerks was there. I take that to mean that I will have a new review for you next week. In the mean time I still beg for FanArt or any other interesting tidbit you happen to have.
6/08/00- Ah, My Meat Socks! They've arrived!
I did up a review of Episode 2 for you. Hope I don't suck too much as a critic. The latest quote? Click Here to find out what I'm talking about. Read the first story, "Special Delivery". Now that is funny. I must go to bed now. It's after Midnight.
6/07/00- Episode Two.
Today is Wednesday and we all know what that means. That's right the second episode to air and second episode in the series if viewed in the correct order will be on tonight. I'm going to fastfoward through half an hour of blank tape to tape it in correct order. Let's hope that ABC does show Episode Three next week and keep showing more episodes there after. Oh and Geocities has a new feature that tracks stats. And I can see that my highest percentage comes from the Message Board. So I say hello to all the people refered here through PezHed. ^_^
6/06/00- Please remember to rewind.
That's what Blockbuster tells me or more specifically what the sticker on the side of the tape says. I went renting again today. The flick? Chasing Amy. We were talking about favorite films on an overactive message board I happen to be a member of and someone with the screen name "banky" told everyone how he chose his name. Boy did I feel like an idiot. How could I forget? So I told him, "Now you know what I'll be renting tomorrow." Today is tomorrow, so I rented it. Now I remember why many people say it's the best View Askew film. Kev, we love you.
6/05/00- Hello??
Hey, people, where's my FanArt? I keep getting Spam in my Inbox. People apparently think I enjoy looking at naked girls. Yuk! Not my thing. Nothings really happening except that Episode Two will be airing on Wednesday. Yes, the real episode two. And a third episode is going to air. Episode Three. I'm assuming the following Wednesday. Anyway, my updates are not as often now. No reason to, I have nothing. So, gimme somthin'. Oh, and WooHoo! I've reached 100 visitors! ^_^
6/01/00- What to do now...
Well, hello again. I hope my review wasn't too stupid. I tried. Anyway, two things. One of my favorite sites, PlanetNamek, made a small mention of Clerks today. I thought that was cool. They seem to agree that it was funny. Also I am now begging you to send FanArt. Please people. Again, I don't want to be forced to put up my crappy Dante doodle. So send away.
6/01/00- Just after Midnight
Just wrote up my Review of Episode Four, the first episode to air. Hope you enjoy. I need to go to sleep now.
5/31/00- And so it begins
Well it aired. Loved it. (well, duh) I'll save it for my review. Either my tapes suck or my VCR sucks. Either way I got a recording with a fuzzy soundtrack. I discovered this after I decided to watch it again. Oh well. Those are the tapes I have and those are the tapes I'm gonna use. Sorry I don't have the review right now. I think I'm going to wait till I have it all in order in my head. OK. Now that you've seen it, you can start sending in those FanArt pieces. If you've got anything else related you'd like to send, by all means please do so.
5/30/00- Wanted: Fan Art
Something I'm severely lacking. Don't make me put up my crappy Dante doodle. Also the show premeres tomorrow night. Please join me in convincing ABC that this was a good idea. I will be taping it. Caught the tail end of the commercial for it last night. All I got to see was Jay saying, "Deja vu". I was hoping to see the whole thing. Damn. Well that's what I got. Expect to see my review sometime after 9:30 tomorrow night.
5/28/00- Jay and Silent Bob will return in "Dogma".
Nothing much to report except for the fact I rented Clerks and Mallrats last night. I did my usual message board stuff till about 2:30 in the morning. (Mom's gone for two weeks. No need to go to bed at all) Anyway, from about 3 till 6:30 in the morning I watched. Had a hell of a time getting to sleep. Oh well. I figured I needed to rent Clerks at least. Hadn't seen it in a while. And since I'm not very good at being a "Fan Boy" (or "Fan Girl" to be more tecnicaly correct) I needed it fresh in my mind for Wednesday. And the cartoonish nature of Mallrats helps as well. I recomend you rent these two before watching on Wednesday. And while you're at it, go ahead and rent Chasing Amy and Dogma as well, ok.
5/25/00- Ok. Now I'm ready.
Finally bought two high quality blank tapes. About time. Could have bought the 3 hour tape, but I went for two 2 hour tapes. Lable said they were top quality. Mom's not touching these for All My Children. I want virgin tapes. Less than a week now, people. You'd better watch! Or I'll have to hunt you down. Anyway head on over to News Askew, they have some CTC related stuff today. Including a better explanation by Kevin Smith as to why the the episodes are out of order. Keep this order in mind for taping (4,2,3,5,1,6) I know I will.
5/20/00- "I think the stuff's finally kickin' in."
It's very late, but I have good news. The Official Site now has a few multimedia clips. I checked them out myself. Oh yeah, this is sweet. Be sure to have Real Player to view the clips. (Don't worry, you can download Real Player there.) Again, I got the info about it at News Askew. I also picked up the titles for each episode. Which brings me to my new Reviews section. Duh, I haven't reviewed any, I'm going to see the episodes at the same time as the majority of you. (Hint: If you're one of the lucky few who have seen a screening of an episode, please talk to me.) Anyway, I really dig the long titles. Reminds me of the Japanese titles for one of my favorite anime(before the dubbers f***ed it up). And I must remind you that the order they are listed on my new page is not necessarily the order in which they will be aired. Damn, I still haven't bought those blank tapes yet. Oh, and I deleted the link to News Askew's Clerks The Cartoon page, because it now just redirects you to the official site.
5/17/00- Two Weeks
That's right, people. Two weeks from today is the airdate of Clerks The Cartoon(We'll have to see how they title it.). Hmm, I still need to go out and buy some blank tapes. Here's my plan. (sorry, I just need to say something) I'm going to put three episodes on each tape. I'll be cuing up the tapes so I can at least have them taped in correct order.(I'm hoping that they do air them in order, but I doubt it)
5/09/00- Oops, They did it again.
Here's the scoop. But first, somehow I wasn't on the mailing list for the official site. (I don't know how that happened) Anyway. It looks as if the shows been screwed again. The episodes are going to be shown out of order starting with Episode four. This is terrible, I mean there is sort of a continuity to the show. This, of course screws up the whole joke of episode two being a flashback episode when there has been only one show to flashback to. (FYI- episode two is still shown second but episode one will be shown after it. Several weeks later.) God, I'm begining to seriously hate ABC.
A little side note here - I seem to have deleted the news for the fifth and it's now lost forever. I am not happy. :(
5/06/00- Well I saw it. And I must say View Askew is looking very profesional. I like it. The title banner was designed by Chris Baily - The guy who designed the characters for the upcoming toon.
In other news, if you noticed I have added a new section. (not really, I just plan to have it) Indi Comics. With my recent discovery of my local comic book store, I have decided to start collecting comics. I went directly (ok, not directly. I actually went to the Manga section first) to the Indi Comics section. I wanted to start something new. I always thought it would be cool to buy the first issue when it first comes out. Other comics are just way too established. The new section will be a sort of Review/Opinion section. Also, I have learned that the guy who created Ackman there (Akira Toriyama) has begun a brand new comic (manga, whatever, it's all the same). I'm happy. Too bad it's in Japanese. I need to see if I can find more info.
4/28/00- Birthday was yesterday. Today I got some cash. Gonna buy some tapes. Then I have to go out and get me a Gundam. Anyway I have important news. (ok I got it from View Askew) The Clerks: The Cartoon official site has been launched. I had expected to get an E-Mail about it (I am on the mailing list) but didn't. So go check out the site.
4/25/00- Second Hand news here. According to the April 19 news at News Askew, in a post from Kevin Smith himself, the show will air when it's supposed to (May 31), and will actually be cut a little for Television. (Can you imagine that, even US cartoons are cut.) There will be uncut videos released. That's pretty cool I think. An added bonus for buying the videos. I already planed on taping the episodes. Infact, birthday's coming up, think I'll use some B-Day money for buying some top quality tapes. That way I'm ready.
4/19/00- I would like to let you know that due to circumstances beond my control (ABC moving the airdate to May 31) I cannot update as much as I'd like to. When I started I only had to wait till March. Don't worry this is not a goodbye. This site is staying. I'm not going to give up on it that easily. I do need the help of other fans out there. You got something, send it. Anything you have to say. Any little doodle. Become a regular contributer. And be sure to tell you're friends about this site. Oh, BTW, I have changed the non-existant Opinions section to the non-existant Reviews section. We have to wait on that one.
4/10/00- Things are looking up. Another trip to News Askew (which is where I seem to get all my info) has led me to understand that the show is most definately going to air. After reading the article they put up, it makes a little more sense that it's going to air when it does. Great, I feel better now. All we need to do is wait.
3/31/00- I can see that putting the link to this site at the top of my main page has increased the flow here by a few curious people. I'm happy to see some numbers.
I've thought of something that might make this site a little more worth while. Since the show has quite a while befor it's suposed to air.(If it does, I'm still not sure) I would be glad to show any possible "fan art" influenced by watching any View Askew Film. I'm pretty desperate. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Old News Archives for any updates you may have missed. ^_^
3/25/00- Well, things are a little confusing now. According to some news a few days ago on News Askew, Our beloved show will not be airing on ABC. They have also taken the link to their Clerks:The Cartoon page off of the main page.(The page still exists, I checked.) I have taken the link to that page off of the index page here, but I will keep it on my Links page. Now, the confusing part. I went and looked at the offical page and it still states the May 31 air date.(about the only thing on that page) It will all make sense eventualy.
Meanwhile, I have changed the welcome paragraph. I like it a little better, but it's still subject to change.
3/22/00- Problem Solved! Finally got that button fixed.
3/21/00- Late follow up! Guess I'm not the first to have a site. Someone else beat me to the punch. I have added two new Links to my links page, because I felt like doing a search. I will change the welcome paragraph accordingly. (As soon as I can think of something new to say)
And about that annoying button: thought I fixed it but I got the transparent colors switched again. Grrr! this is bugging me.
3/21/00- The white on that button is no longer transparent, but now the red is. Ironic, I suppose. Oh well, The next update should have it fixed.
3/19/00- You may have noticed the little button there under Contacts. Well I thought it was important to have a link back to my original site. I do want hits there as well.
The reason it sits on a white background is because I screwed up in the saving process. I lost the white color that was in it. As soon as I figure out what happened, I'll put up a new one.
3/13/00- Got my Entertainment Weekly today. There was a little blurb in there about the current problems with the show airing on May 31st and Kevin Smith's response to ABC.
I have added a doodle to my Fan Art section. It's not necessarily fan art, but it kind of works.
3/11/00- Saw Kevin Smith on Dennis Miller Live last night. The subject for the night was religion. He made one refrence to the problems with ABC. On the subject of Hell: "Say hi to Eisner for me, when you get there." It was shockingly funny. (I'd also like to say that the image on the left reflects my feelings towards ABC)
3/09/00- I went to check out NewsAskew and discovered the evil letter by "The Anonomyous Loon" (why this person used a Warner Bros. refrence for a name I'll never know) It's terrible. It's gonna be there all week, so see it for yourself.
When I created this site I didn't know that ABC was gonna screw it up like that. I should have figured that the same people who screwed up on the third season of Gargoyles (Goliath Chronicals) would screw up Clerks.
Something for this site: I have added a new link to Trooper Clerks: The Animated One-Shot It's a really cool two part spoof that is a must see.
3/05/00- Well I have returned. Clearly I don't update as much here. I had decided not to update untill the counter here had a number on it. Anyway, here's what I have to say. I saw the Kevin Smith vs. Kevin Costner bout on Celebrity Deathmatch. Man it was cool. Aren't we all glad he won. Things aren't looking good for toon right now. But I have hopes that the Clerks fanbase will be enough to save it from doom.
2/20/00- I saw Scream 3 today, And the Jay and Silent Bob sceen was pretty cool. I went in knowing that they were going to be in there. I had forgotton about it, but then I noticed, "Hey, it's Kevin Smith". Then I saw Jay, and thought "No that's supposed to be Silent Bob". It was surreal.
2/18/00- The Air date for the show is going to be May 31 at 9:30 pm. A little upsetting, but at least we know it will be on.
2/17/00- I now have a title graphic for this page and my Links page. It's all coming together.
2/16/00- Reorganized. It looks alot better than it did two days ago. Once I have a title graphic this page will look really spiffy. Ok, now I know the character on the left is not even View Askew related, But I thought he was pretty cool, and I wanted an image. He is from a comic though.
2/14/00- Follow up: I have a counter
2/14/00- Today is the first day of this website. I came up with the idea last night, originally for a links page, but then I expanded the idea to be a whole website. Currently I have nothing but a few links. My next step for this site will be a counter. Please excuse the crude look of this site.(it's only the first day and I have not created any backgrounds or graphics yet) Thank You, and stay tooned. |
