Pilot - What can I say? The whole story was amazing. I think mostly all of you are aware that I was only eight when this show started (I only mentioned it like..what, 5 times?), so it must of been pretty entertaining to hold my attention for that long. We get to see both Mulder *and* Scully in their glasses! Yes, all in one episode! It was great how Chris Carter added that 'Scully in Skivvies' scene to show M&S shared a platonic, trusting relationship (although I think it's safe to say that "platonic" isn't *too* accurate now...). Some have tried to duplicate The X-Files (anyone remember Dark Skies?) and have failed miserably, due to the fact that Mulder and Scully's beautiful and unique relationship can't be duplicated. Excellent acting and writing. There are quite a few cute moments and 'isms' between our favorite dynamic duo.
Deep Throat - Great episode, and of course the beginning of Deep Throat. Lots of cute exchanges here, like 'sucker' and the flying hamburger. We also get to see Scully get vicious, waving her gun around and shouting orders. Yay Scully!
Squeeze - Okay, I'm gonna mention again that I was only 8 when this show first began. As you can imagine, I nearly wet the bed. And my bed happened to be smack below an air conditioning vent. This was a scary episode. Even now,
8 years later (I've been watching this show for half of my life. Wow. ^_^), it still creeps me out the most out of all the episodes. I read that the writer's inspiration was Jack the Ripper. Go figure. JTR is my scariest worst nightmare ever, which heightened my distress. Very very scary and creative story! (Aw man I'm gonna have nightmares
tonight. x_x) Great first MOTW!
Conduit - Eh. Wasn't too great, but it wasn't horrible either. Heart-wrenching last scene, though! Also, the little boy (the actor) makes a reappearance in The Calusari as the poor possessed kid and his evil dead twin bro! Maybe they dyed his hair or something.
The Jersey Devil - Very cute. Scully's failed attempt (the first of many) to have a normal life and go out on a date. And of course Scully nearly biting Mulder's head off!
Shadows - I cringe at the bathtub scenes. Psycho ruined showers for me, and this episode ruined baths. I guess I'm destined to stay dirty for the rest of my life, hmm?
Ghost in the Machine - Old story, but it was okay. It wasn't great, either. Great to see Scully standing firm all grimy giving orders to kill off the COS.
Space - I almost fell asleep in this one. The only episode that fully succeeded putting me to sleep was season five's Travelers. Yawn.
Fallen Angel - Max Fenig makes his first appearance! Great conspiracy episode. When I think real hard about it, I somehow see a connection to that force field and the one in Requiem...hrmm. Also in Rush! I'll check that out.
Eve - Excellent plot! It succeeded in giving me the creeps. Definitely recommended!
Fire - Phoebe Green. ::cringe:: Well, she's no Fowley, but of course we still hate her guts. We get to see jealous!Scully and Mulder in a tux. At least Scully gets to comfort Mulder after he heroicially rescues the children from the fire while Phoebe takes the
credit.
Beyond the Sea - I loved every aspect of this episode! Gillian Anderson was excellent in this one. She really had her chance to shine, and shine she did. Very emotional one for Scully. Her father dies, and her partner is fatally wounded. Great scenes between her and Luther Lee Boggs, and who can forget the last scene? "He was my father..." And the whole Mulder comfort...::sigh::
GenderBender - Another "okay" episode...at first I was like "jeez, the Amish aren't gonna like this too much..." But then I remembered that the Amish don't have TV's, so it's all good. ^_^ Gotta love that scene where the Amish dude attempts to seduce Scully and Mulder barges in..."Get off of her!!" I loved that! And lets not forget...Nicholas Lea!! (poor guy...gets seduced by an alien and almost barfs his inners up, and now he has no arm...::sigh::
Lazarus - So, Scully did have a life before TXF. Of course her ex has to die and come back as a convict only to kidnap her. TXF. Go figure. But anyways, I really liked this episode - we got to see Mulder panic and frantically search for his missing
partner. The first of many Scully-in-distress episodes, it seems.
Young at Heart - Mulder uses his gun? *cough*
EBE - LOL I loved this ep! The grand entrance of the Lone Gunman!
The whole Frohike-Scully moments were priceless.
Miracle Man - I vaguely remember this episode. It aired on my 9th birthday, thats all I remember. I saw it and I wasn't particularly thrilled about it.
Shapes - I kinda liked this one, but not for the acting. An age-old werewolf story with an Indian twist, but it has it's moments.
Tooms - See Squeeze. I can never ride an escalator again.
Oh, and who can forget that wonderful M/S exchange in the car?? ;)
Born Again - I remember vividly missing this one and throwing a temper-tantrum, but then I saw it a few years later and realised that it was a waste of time.
Roland - There was a great handful of actors in this one...all-in-all it was a good episode. Whenever I go to the Museum of Science and go to a live show, I cringe when they bring out that liquid nitrogen.
The Erlenmeyer Flask - This was a good one. The acting and story was all wonderful. And Deep Throat dies - the first major character to get killed off. One of the only season finales that isn't "to be con't".
