July 1, 2000

So. The computer is still messed up. We haven't had the time to fix it, and won't be fixing it very soon. Perhaps this weekend, or this week. I tried to update before, but the regular ftp program I use has been wiped, so I couldn't use it. I was going to use the geocities upload page, but then I found that wordpad is also gone. I tried using notepad, but it refused to copy and paste after a while. So, I can't move anything into the update history. Not that it matters much.

I wrote my exam for Philosophy of the Paranormal last night, so I'm still fairly tired. I did, however, manage to get that essay coded properly. You can read it here or go to the essays section. It's Canada Day here, and since I'm in the capital city, many people are flocking here to watch the fireworks over the Parliment Buildings. That means that I'm leaving the city. I'm going to a friend's cottage for the night, where we shall drink alcoholic beverages, light explosives, and burn various edible and inedible objects, in about that order. I'll see what I can do to fix the computer after I return.

Well, there are still no major updates. The computer is still not fixed, and is in fact getting worse. We are too lazy and busy to bother, plus, the disks we need are being borrowed. I recently discovered that Geocities has started a sort of statistics service on the file manager page, so people can get a sort of rough estimate as to how many people are visiting which parts of a page. I've discovered that very few of the people visiting here are actually even seeing this main page, but are simply linking to the anime critique section. The section I update next to never. No one is really looking at either the updates, or the pictures.

The pictures were to be sort of the main component of this page, as it's really the only thing that I've ever been considered good at. Sure, they're not that good, but you'd think that someone would, I don't know, maybe look at one or two of them at least once. But, if no one's even looking at this page, how can I inform anyone of new things on the page...

Well, since no one is looking at them, and since people seem to mostly be looking at that anime critique, I added a link near the top of said page, directing people to the main page. Perhaps someone may look at them, after all. I may also go through the entire gallery (don't wanna..) and remove those pictures which aren't very good. But, later, as I have a deadish computer on my hands. (I can't even cut-and-paste text without it crashing!) So, all my updates are still on the same page...

Yes. The computer is mostly back now. And I have Flash4. I'll be trying to teach myself Flash for a while, and if I get really ambitious, I may make a Flash version of this page available. If I'm not as ambitious, I may just make Flash versions of some of the other pages available. I want to change the look of the page, and am trying to find ways of doing so without creating a lot of work for myself, and having to rewrite everything. Maybe I'll just make an uncluttered splash page or something. It was so annoying to get the menu frame up and running, that I don't want to abandon it, but a large percentage of visiters to the page are linking in to secondary pages, and so (I'm assuming) don't ever see the menu frame. I may have to go through every page and add the menu to each one... Please email me with your suggestions. I'm also running out of room on this page (still), and am considering taking down the pictures I no longer care for, to put new ones up. It would be too easy to just buy more space, and some of the images I'm just not happy with. Also, I have some new pictures to be added to the 'shounen ai' section, yet they don't completely fit with the idea of shounen ai, so I may just rename the section to something more fitting. No one looks at it anyway... Back to learning Flash.

After some technical difficulty, I seem to be able to update again. I have removed the images from the 'visual' section that I felt like removing. I also added more links and updated one which had moved. I will be editing a few more images today, such as changing the outdated 'no picture' image, and will be replacing the old visual header image with something better. For now, the older one is simply gone. If I get ambitious, I will also add a few anime critiques.
