| This is the sixth and 'Special' image in the Outenkun to Kare (Outenkun and Boyfriend/Him) Series. In this picture, Outenkun is with Taijyou Roukun, also known as Roushi. I discarded at least three attempts at the initial sketches for this over the three years I had been working on this image, including one comic-strip. The first sketches were to be amusing or comical, but ultimately I went with a somber look. This was sketched, then inked on vellum and scanned. I coloured the characters/foreground in Painter 7 with a Wacom Graphire tablet, then did the text, background and shadow in Paint Shop Pro. Final sketch and image June/July 2003. |
