Moonlight Manipulation
Shadows - Requirements: None.
This is your basic spell in Moonlight Manipulation. It darkens the area
around you, enabling you to hide better.
Focus Moonbeam - Requirements:
Shadows. This is a true Moon Mage spell, and is a requirement for several other
spells. It focuses a moonbeam from one of the three moons into the area where you
are located. The moon MUST be visible for you to focus your beam.
Dazzle - Requirements: Shadows.
This spell flashes an intense burst of light at the target you select, momentarily
blinding them.
Refractive Field - Requirements:
Shadows. Another great spell for true stealth. It enables you to walk
around invisible. Be aware that this spell requires high level harness capability,
and is not recommended for novices.
Dinazeen Olkar - Requirements:
Shadows, Telekinetic Throw, Burn, Moonblade and a high level of Target Magic. This
spell creates a cutting edge shadow, that could rip the limb off the body of your target.
Tezirah's Veil - Requirements:
Shadows and Clear Vision. This spell hinders an opponent's ability to dodge, block
or parry your attacks.
Clarify Gem - Requirements:
Piercing Gaze, and a moonbeam that you have focused in the area. This spell directs
moonlight into a gem, clarifying it and making it more valuable. Use Piercing Gaze
on the gem first, to inspect it.
Shift Moonbeam - Requirements:
Distant Gaze and Refractive Field. Allows you to move a moonbeam from a
distance. This is a held mana spell.
Crystal Spike - Requirements:
Dinazen Olkar. A targetted attack spell, which is delayed, and often includes a
feint so that the real attack takes the target off guard. This spell can also turn
back against the caster if the target escapes before the spell is cast.
Transduction
Telekinetic Throw - Requirements: None.
This is your basic spell in Transduction. It allows you to hurl one object,
chosen at random from what is on the ground, at your target. If there is nothing on
the ground, you can drop an object such as a knife, arrow or shattered glass to use.
Be aware that once the room is crowded with objects, you may find yourself hurling
something such as a hooded cloak at your target, which will not do any damage. Be
sure to get your TKT items before you leave the area.
Telekinetic Storm - Requirements:
Hypnotize, Mental Blast, Psychic Shield and Telekinetic Throw. A much more powerful
TKT type spell, which sends multiple items at your target.
Burn - Requirements: Shadows and Focus
Moonbeam. This spell sends down a moonbeam to strike at your chosen target,
inflicting a burn. The more mana you use, the more powerful the burn.
MoonBlade - Requirements: Telekinetic
Throw, Burn, Shadows and Focus Moonbeam. A unique spell which sends down a moonbeam
to create a medium-edged sword in your hand. The blade is strong, but only remains a
short time. If you drop it, it's gone.
Teleport - Requirements: Telekinetic
Throw, Shadows and Focus Moonbeam. Used to instantly teleport to a moonbeam you have
placed elsewhere (known as a beacon). The longer the teleporting distance, the more
Primary Magic is required. You will be stunned for a period of time after you
arrive. Cardinal rule: ALWAYS check to be sure you have a beam still placed
somewhere! Use the verb PERCEIVE to check your established moonbeams.
Moon Gate - Requirements: Telekinetic
Throw, Teleport, Shadows and Focus Moonbeam. This spell requires you to be at 25th
Circle or higher. Moon Gate is the spell that makes a Moon Mage a Moon Mage.
Similar to teleport, except that you can open a Gate that will allow you to transport your
entire group. But be warned: Make sure you have a moonbeam placed where you
wish to go, or severe consequences will result...like Death.
Whole Displacement - Requirements:
Teleport. This spell attempts to displace your target a short distance, perhaps out
of combat or to a nearby area.
Contingency - Requirements: Seer's Sense and
Teleport. An S.O.S. in case of death. This spell will teleport the mage, after
death, to the location of either his/her moonbeam or to the feet of the person he/she is
linked with via Seer's Sense.
Imbue - Requirements: Focus Moonbeam and
20th Circle. This spell energizes an object with an intense level of Lunar mana,
readying any useless item into something an enchanter can use. NOTE: It takes
TWO castings of this spell to fully prepare an item, and previous functions the item may
have had are likely to be lost forever. Some Moon Mages who cannot enchante still
take this spell to help those than can enchante, as apprentices.
Perception
Clear Vision - Requirements: None. Your
basic Perception spell. Increases clarity of vision and perception. A very
useful spell in many ways. Used to help detect people in hiding who wish to pick
your pockets and for foraging, to name just two.
Piercing Gaze - Requirements: Clear
Vision. This spell allows you to look into and see the contents of a closed or
locked container. Can also be used to penetrate cloud cover in the sky in order to
observe constellations and planets better.
Locate - Requirements: Clear Vision.
One of a Moon Mage's most useful spells. It will locate someone who is not in
hiding or inside a building. A high rank of Primary Magic may be needed to locate
someone who is far away. NOTE: Locate and Scry have now been combined for a more
powerful effect. With enough skill, the Scry feature of being able to locate someone
inside a building will come into play.
Distant Gaze - Requirements: Clear Vision
and Focus Moonbeam. Allows you to view the area where you have a previously focused
moonbeam. You can also listen to the conversation taking place there, with the
exception of whispered comments.
Seer's Sense - Requirements: Locate.
This spell hones the caster's magical senses, such that he may concentrate and
sense the general distance and state of being of a target person regardless of their
distance from him. If self-cast, the caster's foresight improves, allowing him to
dodge attacks more efficiently.
Psychic Projection
Hypnotize - Requirements: None.
Your basic spell in Psychic Projection. It is a survival spell, mainly.
Casting this spell on your target will calm it down, allowing you to leave the area with
haste.
Mental Blast - Requirements: Hypnotize.
Temporarily stuns your opponent for a period of time, depending on how much mana
you use. Used for escaping purposes when you are overwhelmed, and also to slow down
your target for a more forceful attack.
Confusion - Requirements: Hypnotize.
When cast on your target, it's mind becomes very feeble and, well, confused.
Effects vary depending upon how much mana is applied to the spell.
Shadow Scribe - Requirements: Clear
Vision, Distant Gaze and Focus Moonbeam. This spell places a short message on a
moonbeam that you have placed. Distant Gaze must be cast on the moonbeam you wish to
send the message to.
Psychic Shield - Requirements: Clear
Vision and Mental Blast. Used to help your resistance to mental spells cast upon
you.
Shadowling - Requirements: Shadows, Focus
Moonbeam, Clear Vision, Mental Blast and Psychic Shield. This spell summons a small
critter that is quite harmless and the results can tickle your funnybone. When the
shadowling is around, your harness will recover quicker than normal.
Shadow Servant - Requirements: Shadows,
Focus Moonbeam, Clear Vision, Mental Blast, Psychic Shield and Shadowling. This
spell summons a "slave" that can carry up to 10 belongings. He's a bit
slow, and can be a pain at times. Not a spell for the weak in harness ability.
Thoughtcast - Requirements: Seer's
Sense. This spells allows the caster to contact a person he/she is linked with via
Seer's Sense with a single ESP-type message.
Stellar Magic
Starlight Sphere - Requirements:
Telekinetic Throw, Burn, and Circle 40. This spell uses the energy of the stars to
create a cold sphere of stellar magic that can be directed by the caster towards an enemy.
Shadewatch Mirror - Requirements: Distant
Gaze. This spell creates a gazing mirror into the area, available for anyone to peer
through, to see a target person.
