Legoverse Deuteros CAS Fighter

Click Here for Deuteros CAS Fighter 3/4 front photo The Deuteros Combat Assault Support (CAS) Fighters are tasked to ensure safe landing zones for Assault Drop Ships, provide enemy fire suppression, and provide air support for ACM ground units after deployment. Though primarily tasked for air-to-ground missions, the Deuteros fighters are often utilized in a secondary role in air-to-air combat.

Click Here for Deuteros CAS Fighter head-on photo Weaponry consists of six class-2 laser cannons, and a single retrofitted pulsed-plasma cannon. This concentrated firepower quickly overwhelms most enemy ground units, and serves well in air-to-air dogfights. The engines seen here are standard N/77-s High-Bypass Turbine units.

Note also the 'FlightPac' pilot ejection sytem. This allows ejection at virtually any altitude and speed, and gives the pilot a short duration flight capability after ejection.

With the wings fully down and locked, the Deuteros is inherently unstable, giving it high roll rates and rapid turning capabilities. Moving the wings up level or slightly higher results in outstanding stability, extended flight range, and lowers the stall speed for "low & slow" operations. The full up position is used for stowage on transport ships.
