Much like the original Star Wars, the original Xenogears for the Playstation was framed as only one episode in a much larger storyline--the fifth installment of a six-part arc. If Namco's planned release of the entire series gets that far, Xenogears will next be seen as Xenosaga Episode V, part of one of the richest and most story-intensive RPG series in recent memory.
