1993 Star Trek: Deep Space 9 started broadcasting in the U.S, created by the same producers as TNG .The concept is all new and focuses on the space station Deep Space 9 in the remote quarters of the Federation. The threat of a Klingon civil war, the conflict between the Cardassian and the Bajor, and the constant risk of a visit from the other side of the wormhole makes Deep Space 9 one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy. The crew must steadily stay on post under Lieutenant Commander Siskos command. DS9 is more alien, more bizarre than anything within Federation space. 1
