Mr. Mahoney started acting professionally at age 37. He enrolled in theater classes and was "discovered" while performing in a play with John Malkovich. He was invited to join the Steppenwolf Theater Company in Chicago and hasn't stopped acting since.
What Did He Do Before That?
When he first moved to the United States, Mr. Mahoney joined the Army. He then went on to get his Bachelor's degree and then a Master's Degree in English. He taught English for a couple of years and then went on to edit medical journals before he began his acting career.
Where Did He Get His Start In Acting?
Originally in Manchester as a child. Professionally, he began acting in Chicago, Illinois.
