Fortunately for Galen, Ged had had the presence of mind to program in a short hop of about an hour, which by using the backup hyperdrive would take them about 10 minutes normal time from their position, and another 10 important minutes towards Coruscant, where Galen had to get to, to pick up the rest of his money. When they came back out of hyperspace, Galen quickly decided that he wanted to put the Main hyperdrive back in since the backup was too slow for him to get back in time, which was a reasonable assumption given the time frames, but careful calculation, done later by Ged once they’d got back to Coruscant, showed that they could have made it back to Coruscant with half an hour to spare. So Galen and John sat in the engineering hold, with the main hyperdrive, attempting to decipher the manual that had been clearly converted from Selonian to Basic by a Selonian. 3 Hours later he had it working, and engaged it to return to Coruscant, this surprisingly went without hitches for a ship which had had its hyperdrive repaired by an amateur, who had only passing familiarity with hyperdrives. (If there’s a lesson here its: leave Hyperdrives to the real experts, they’re just too complicated for future heroes.)
Once on Coruscant all the Passengers except Pulin Simmonds left. Pulin stayed behind to go back to Doig Natas with Galen. The others didn’t do anything much although they had things to do, they relied on places being open, which on the Sunday they weren’t since Sundays were declared as off days on Coruscant, which had many shops and facilities which stayed open all through the night, but they all respected the Sunday rule. Elana decided to go for a walk, whilst Galen was waiting at Doig’s for him to finish with Pulin, and some others he had to see urgently. When Doig saw Galen, he congratulated him on his success, and gave him the money, and explained that he had heard rumours of a new announcement to be made any day soon, and that may cause him to have to leave, or perhaps it may cause Galen to leave, either way he gave Galen an address when he could contact him later on if either of them had to move. Elana meanwhile had gone quite a way from the spaceport and was just about to head back when she thought she was being followed, she confirmed this, and went to pains to avoid this person and believes that she lost him.
The following morning Jarad got up early to go to his job, he went to the admin centre and told them who he was, he then got instructed by the Chief of the Guards, who asked him simple questions to ascertain what he needed to know, Jarad was then directed to his shift rota, and given a map of the compound. His rota described when he would take his breaks, and so forth. He got changed in the guards room, and they gave him the equipment he needed. Elana was the next one up, she went out to see her previous employer, and made some other enquiries she felt necessary, some important to their mission. She was told of the news first, (among the group) by someone whom she met about her enquiries. She saw a recording of the 9:00 am holonews.
Galen, John and Ged were all watching the holonews at 10:00 am when they saw a recording of the nine o’clock announcement, Jarad had completed the first 2 shifts uneventfully, until his break when he watched the holonews last at 11:00am, and as it happens they all found out some very interesting and perhaps disturbing news:
"As representative of the Senate, it is my pleasure to announce a change which will affect everyone in a positive way, I am announcing a New Order, a change in the laws which will allow us to maintain a peace and decorum throughout the galaxy. The first change of the New Order is to announce a change in the style of government. We shall become strong with our new order with a new Empire, the old senate will now become the new Imperial Senate, with me as its head becoming Chairman of the Imperial Senate. You will soon see that the new Empire will benefit all."

Galen who was in the bank waiting for his cred chip to be tested, finished watching the news and immediately decided that he needed to act on this, and headed back with his cred chip to the ship, Ged who was in the ship, decided that he would need to find out about getting the ship’s hyperdrive fixed, as it needed an overhaul, so he started finding information about shipyards, and had a list of yards and was just getting a quote from the Eastport shipyards (the spaceport they were at) when Galen arrived. Elana was with one of her enquiries, and soon left for the bank. Jarad decided that he needed to see whether he had any ties on Coruscant still, and felt he had to talk to Illyana and perhaps give it one more try, so during his break he called her up and asked her whether she had seen the news and what she thought of it, and at this she displayed that she was a bit miffed about being called away from her work, to answer nonsensical questions, but something clicked in her memory and she asked him out to lunch, so Jarad went back to work and waited till he could go and see her.
John meanwhile had been meditating until Galen came back and was now interested in the proceedings and was going to send one last message back to the jedi academy, and told Ged, whilst Galen was talking to Jarad about when they were going to leave, and in-between Ged calling Ship yards, that he was going to a cybercafe (coffee and access to the nets being inextricably linked since before anyone can remember).
At the bank Elana closed her account and emptied her deposit box before enquiring about her flat, which it appeared was handled by a Smiths Residentials. She then phone up Smiths and found out the information about her flat, and asked them to do a check on her flat that afternoon, which she arranged for 17:30. She then went to purchase a bag, and pick up the clothes she had left in a locker in the Railway station.
Jarad meanwhile had gone to meet Illyana, and was getting some very suspicious looks from most of the staff their since he didn’t have the money to by anything but was supposedly with someone, who hadn’t turned up, the bar man however seemed a very down to ground sort of chap, but Illyana shortly arrived and they went to their table, this restaurant was however aimed at the high flying Coruscant youth, and was one of the few signs of posterity Coruscant had left, and as such was styled in the ancient sub-culture of terrans, French, Jarad not being very well educated couldn’t read the menu, and had to let Illyana order which she was happy to do, and they talked about how they had been, but shortly conversation moved on to the business of the day when Illyana figured out from what Jarad wasn’t saying that the "academy" that he attended was for Jedi’s and that he was either a Jedi or in training, so she suddenly understood why it was he was anxious to know how the Empire would affect her, since it was obvious that Jedi’s would not be welcome. Illyana estimated that she would stay on Coruscant since Gemtech should be in favour with the new government, as much as the old, she also insisted that she couldn’t tell Jarad what she was working only that Gemtech was mainly responsible for making power systems.
She also offered the return of her locket, but Jarad declined this, and Illyana kept it, and she said that if she ever did need to leave Coruscant she may try and find him, and he gave her his gem that he had attempted a bond so that when she needed him, he would know, and would come and help her when she needed him. At this Illyana gave an almost indescribable look which involved something in the eyes and a small smile, but the results the look was trying to give, were of belief, trust, and perhaps impress, and friendship. They then left the restaurant and Jarad hurried back to his afternoon shift. At half two, Galen and Ged, took the ship, with John and Elana in it, to the Millennium Shipyards, where it was to be overhauled, for considerable cost, but it was the only shipyard which could do it the same day.
They required as few people in the ship as possible and in the end only John stayed, the others going out to a nearby eating establishment recommended to them by the engineers there, called St Jim’s. Galen walked in and straight away ordered 3 plates of food, which was translated as being 3 specials, the others just ordered a special each, since it appeared that Galen was intending to eat all three himself. They then sat down at a booth against the wall, and waited, once the food arrived they all started on what turned out to be very simple but tasty food, (basically a fry up) a few minutes later John turned up have annoyed the engineer to the point where he thought it prudent to leave, and went to the same place, and ordered yet another special, (since that was the only choice) and waited at the others table. By the time his plate arrived, Ged and Elana had finished, (Galen was only on his second). Ged and Elana were thinking about leaving, or waiting for Galen, when Ged decided to ask the populous about where all the Jedi’s had gone, 3 big bulky guys at the bar, turned to each other and on of them asks which one was going to go and beat him up, they were just deciding this when Ged made it even worse by starting to babble on about what they had wrong with Jedi’s not that he was one of course. Elana however promptly stepped in and apologised to the guys at the bar for Geds behaviour and tried to take him out of the bar, Ged was having none of this and continued to question all and sundry, Elana was getting desperate and was tugging Ged towards the door only partially successfully, at which point she gave up and resorted to a sharp jab in the stomach with her fist, Ged was instantly silences and was making gasping noises and trying to protest, Elana wheeled him out of the joint and round the corner, and put him down on the floor, which was where he was heading. She apologised and explained that he was making a fool of himself and was in danger of exposing the group, and getting a hiding and proceeded to assist his healing. Shortly however 2 guards, which yesterday would have been wearing the Coruscant uniform, now in new imperial uniforms, walked up and asked them to move on, else they would have to be arrested for loitering or disturbing the peace. Elana helped Ged to move from lying on the floor to back outside the establishment, and they then went to a nearby bar (across the street), where Elana proceeded to buy drinks for them both, five minutes later Galen and John finished and headed over to the same bar (by coincidence more than design) and Galen bought John a drink. Just as Galen was starting his second drink, his comlink bleeped, and he had a call, from Doig, after a moments conversation, he left the bar, and because of his full stomach it took him a full 2 minutes to realise that it wasn’t Doig’s voice on the comlink, another three minutes went by until he realised that he was being followed, he managed to duck in to a side alley round a corner, and managed to spot his follower moments before she realised they were spotted, Galen saw, a tall woman, with long black hair tied in a plait, in short a very attractive woman. She approached him, and Galen began questioning her, and explaining that she wasn’t very wise. She merely spoke her dislike of "good jedis" and made a kick, which at the range she was at, well out of touch range, wouldn’t have done much good except that it allowed the stiletto shoe on that foot to fly off spinning wildly, just as Galen dodged out of the way with amazing foresight, the shoe, flew past and struck the permacrete with a metal screech, leaving a long scratch in the floor. Galen then brought up his ready blaster in preparation, and threatened to shoot, to which she brought out a lightsaber, and Galen in evaluating all his options, decided to high tail it, further down the alley, which lasted all of 100 yards when it came to a dead end piled up with rubbish, he turned to see his attacker approach and then stop yet again well out of range, he sensed and found what it was that had stopped her in her tracks, there was another person with the force approaching quickly behind her, and what was more Galen recognised it as the force markings of Simeon his old friend who had been training with the Jedi Master Asda Noven on his own private planet close to Corellia, but the signal was far stronger than it had ever been when Galen had sensed him, just before all of them except Simeon left the training of Asda. At the end of the alley he could see a figure approaching his assailant, they soon faced off, and Simeon said that he didn’t like it when people go out of their way to try and hurt his friends, and that she shouldn’t do that, shortly they were in a fierce lightsaber duel, and the woman was doing demonstrably better than Simeon, so Galen decided to distract her and threw an empty can at her, just as it was about to hit her, she side stepped and sliced it in half, still managing to hold off Simeon, Galen decided he had to resort to shooting her in the back, and he fired, and should have hit but the shot just disappeared as it hit her (well OK it didn’t disappear, should we be able to see that fast, say about as fast as a fly for instance we would have seen it hit an invisible shield just centimetres away from her back, a minute splash of colour that even a fly would have not to blink to miss, which they don’t do, and then the bolt was dissipated, but I thought that for these purposes I could have just said it disappeared, oh well...) and at the same time, she lashed out with the force towards Galen, who despite his best efforts succumbed to the surprise of it, and was immediately in the most explicit pain he could ever imagine (well OK so later on he might but up till now he hadn’t all right?), doing this and trying to slice Simeon distracted her concentration and he had the advantage and push on it, attacking powerfully and skilfully, barely losing breath, suddenly it was too much and the woman’s lightsaber was prised from her grasp by Simeon and flew up in the air, instantly cutting off as it reached the top of its loop. Simeon smiled slightly and was just about to kill her mercifully for her own good, when she neatly side-stepped and kicked, the kick just touching him on the midriff, which was all she needed for suddenly Simeon was bleeding profusely and the woman had jumped smartly over his collapsing body, and quickly made her escape, Galen quickly realised that although he was in pain, he should be helping his saviour Simeon, so he tried to use the force to rid himself of the pain, but only managed a little reduction in the pain, he then tried to use his brute strength of body and mind to get him beside Simeon, at which point he committed his first heroic act of trying his damnedest to save his friends life, and surprisingly he did it, and Simeon asked him whether he, Galen, was all right, and Galen then called for some help from his friends back at the bar, whilst they were coming Galen searched for the lightsaber she had dropped and found it lying on a pile of rubbish, and collected the 2 stiletto shoes, which turned out to have very sharp heels, very shortly, Elana, Ged and John all arrived, Elana being the only one able to, help Galen get rid of the pain, and then someone checked over Simeon to ensure that he was all right. Galen then told them what had happened, whilst they repaired to somewhere slightly more comfortable.
