Knitting instructions for all blocks
Size 9 Needles Gauge: 4 stitches=1", 6 rows=1"
With white cast on 21 stitches. Work two rows of garter stitch. Begin following chart except keep two stitches on each side in garter stitch (the chart will actually begin on your third stitch). When you have finished the chart, work two rows of garter stitch, bind off. Secure all ends. For plain blocks, follow the same directions, without the design. NOTE: See Materials box by each month's block for special instructions.
FEBRUARY Materials: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, white and either red or pink. Follow the chart twice, beginning the repeat immediately when you finish the chart. |
MARCH Materials: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, white and green. Work each row in the chart twice, knitting one row, then purling one row. |
APRIL Materials: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, white, bunny color (brown or gray), pink, blue and black. Work each row in the chart twice, knitting one row, then purling one row. Note: Make pompom using a table fork for a base. See crochet picture for front view. |

SEPTEMBER Materials: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, white, red and gray. Work each row in the chart twice, knitting one row, then purling one row. Also, to add a little extra to this block, you may want to get a small gold liberty bell to hang in the belfry, and some small faces to be looking out the windows. |
OCTOBER Materials: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn, white, orange and yellow. Note: Work cast on, the beginning and ending garter rows, and all edge garter stitches in white, plus one extra row of stockinette before and after chart. |
