The starting price was at about $6,500 and your monthly payments could be as low as 33.70 @ 4.5 % interest. As promising and affordable as they were, they were not very well engineered and had a lot of problems.They were poorly insulated, extremely drafty which led to high heating costs. I would imagine most of the ones that survived have by now been heavily re worked.

 

Fabricated in a factory in Indiana, here's an entire house coming off the truck. They could be put together,

bolted to the slab and ready for occupancy in days rather than weeks.
