The James Lagumis family were real
Mastic Beach pioneers and very active in community affairs. Especially
the Fire Department & Bayview Hospital. Their wine & spirits
store still stands on Mastic Road just north of 5 corners. I was
in their daughter Mary Ann's class for a short time.
The boat races at unit 1 were on
Forge River. You can bet Nick Chapman and his "Rowdy"
was there. That's Moriches in the background.
