Now we're getting
somewhere
The price is
now 2.5 Million
And it would
be just a little bit longer
than Sept of
1958 before this appeared on
July 1st 1959
AND THEN ON
THE 4th Of July 1959 !!!!!!!!
50 Years after
Fred Quimby built his "temporary"
wood bridge for
Tangiers Manor
And some 10
million quarters later true to their word they took the toll booths
down!
I remember
our first senior class at Floyd (1960) holding a senior picnic
at the then 10 month old park and if memory serves me well, three
stooges er students that is... Ralph Perra, Paul Einfeldt &
Roger Berg (a sophomore
but tall for his age)
dove off it!....Much to the dismay of high school principal Ed
Orr (they really steamed
his clams) who probably
yelled a lot (Orr
was very good at yelling)
and gave them detention or something like that.
Perra, Einfeldt,
Berg & Orr
One of my
fondest memories of the parks early days was taking Helen Scuteri
there in my boat the Little
Chief....it was around 1961 , the pavillion was built and
we got lost in the fog on the way back and wound up at Pattersquash
Island
