Matt City was known by the name of Viburnum until January 1, 2009. The City Council voted unanimously to change the name to Matt City in honor of Mayor Matt Chadbourne.
Matt City is a prospering community nestled in the scenic Missouri Ozarks. The area produces over ninety percent of America's lead, and our school is among the best in the state. Our population is rapidly expanding due to both our flourishing industry and the friendliness of our community.
