THE SERIES: Burke's Law September 20, 1963 - August 31, 1965 (ABC) This show originated on the premiere episode of The Dick Powell Show in which Powell portrayed Burke. It was then made into it's own series with Gene Barry as Los Angeles homocide chief Burke. Most of the episodes were titled Who Killed _______? and featured many guest stars. In the fall of 1965 producers changed Burke into a secret agent and retitled the show Amos Burke, Secret Agent. This show was not successful and ended after one season. THE EPISODE: Who Killed Mr. X?
