THE SERIES:
DuPont Show Of The Month

September 29, 1957 - March 21, 1961 (CBS)

Monthly anthology series with 90 minute format. Most of the shows were based on well known plays and novels. DuPont had previously sponsored a half-hour weekly series on ABC called
DuPont Theater and after the demise of Show of the Month would sponsor DuPont Show of the Week on NBC.

THE EPISODE:
Harvey

Original Air Date: September 22, 1958
Cast: Art Carney (Elwood P. Dowd); Marion Lorne (Veta Louise Simmons); Elizabeth Montgomery (Miss Kelly);  Larry Blyden (Dr. Lyman Sanderson);  Charlotte Rae (Myrtle Mae Simmons)

Synopsis:
Kind-hearted, mild-mannered Elwood P. Dowd has an invisible six-foot, white rabbit named 'Harvey' for a companion; society in general and his sister in particular seek to rid him of his "delusions." What they fail to realize is that Elwood's world is a far better one. Based on the Mary Chase play which was made into a feature film in 1950 with James Stewart as Dowd. Point of interest: Marion Lorne, who would play 'Aunt Clara' on
Bewitched six years later, co-stars here.
