"WHY????" Nick moaned as he flopped down onto a black leather couch in the recording studio. "Do we havta have a GIRL opening act? They scream too much when they see us."
"Ah, quit your whinin, Chaos," Brian laughed. "I thought you'd be used to it by now."
"I like the lady singers," AJ piped up, then immediately got pelted with couch pillows.
"Duh! Probably cuz ya got more brains in your pan-" Howie started.
"Ok, guys settle down," Donna laughed. "This girl's different. She's a fan, yes, but she can handle herself better. Just listen to her & you'll decide."
"Yay." Kevin said dryly. Just then, the doors opened. The boys looked, expecting a bouncy blonde in pink to come running in. Oh, how wrong they were.
In walked a tall redhead, wearing a tight black spaghetti-strap t-shirt & 48" JNCOs (those are some damn big pants right there!). Her long hair was striped in silver, & she wore purple lipstick & nailpolish.
She looked at them stare at her for a few seconds, then said, "What?" The boys shook themselves out of their daze & started stuttering out nothings & neverminds. The girl shrugged & walked over to the microphone on the other side of the studio.
"Boys, meet Azrael," Donna smiled. "Azrael, meet Kevin, Nick, Brian, Howie, & AJ."
"Yo."
"H-h-hi...." the boys forced out. They were still in awe, especially AJ. Figures.
"Azrael, let's show these boys what you can do. Let's start with 'Show Me The Meaning'." Donna grinned. The boys relaxed, expecting to hear the usual femine soft voice. ERR! Wrong answer.
"Show me the meaning, of being lonely..." Azrael belted out, causing the boys to jump. She smiled, then continued.
"Damn, Bone, she sounds just like you!" Nick hissed at AJ. But AJ was in his own little la-la land watching Azrael sway back & forth to the music. The way her expression seemed so serious...so sad... they should've put her in their video.
"-How can it be you're asking me to feel the things you never SHOW?" Azrael was too caught up in the music to notice everyone's jaws drop as she held that last note for so long.
When she finished, Azrael's head jerked up in surprise when she heard the loud applause. "Uhhhh.....I take it you liked it?" she asked timidly.
"Welcome to the Backstreet family, Azrael!" Donna put her arm around the young girl.
"You mean I made it? YES!!" She jumped slightly. "Hee hee! Wait'll my Daddy hears about this!" With that, she ran out of the room to call her father.
"How old is she?" AJ asked.
"20," Donna answered.
AJ rubbed his hands together. "Good."
"Ok, guys," Brian smirked. "Let's go shove AJ in a cold shower! He's in love!"
