"Yeah Brenda, it's all mine! I paid it off. I'm like paid off for like a year that's how cheap it was." Amy said to her friend who had gone away to college in another state. She was the only friend she had kept in touch with after they had graduated from high school.

"I can't believe you actually told your mom your leaving to be a dancer. Your brave...I don't think I could have done that." Amy smiled happily finally realizing she was on her own in the real world. She placed a figurine on the mantel. Positioning it in the right place where it wouldn't fall off. She was still unpacking. Her parents had only let her take a couple of her personal belongings. All she had was a bed, her clothes; some saved up money, and a few things that were in her room that she couldn't live without. Amy heard something behind her. She inhaled quickly and held her breath while turning around slowly hoping nothing was there.

"Amy you ok? You there?" Brenda asked hearing Amy sounding a little scared. Amy walked to the edge of her doorway and peered out across the living room. She didn't see anything but the noise continued. She walked to the kitchen and flipped on the light. Nothing. She went back to her room figuring she was just hearing things.

"Amy what happened?" Brenda asked worried because Amy had become offly quiet.

"Nothing happened. I heard something but I checked the house out and didn't see anything." Amy heard a loud crash and dropped the phone while letting out a deifying scream. Her figurine had fallen off the mantle. Amy picked up the phone still a little scared.

"It's ok my figurine just fell off the mantle. Man I got that for my sixteenth birthday." Amy said kneeling down to clean it up. "I could have sworn I put it up there where it wouldn't fall. Actually I was sure I did. Dang it…oww!" Amy yelled as a piece of glass cut through her skin. Red blood began to flow from the open wound.

"You cut yourself didn't you." Brenda said laughing.

"Hey you know me, always clumsy. One thing my mom despised of me." Amy placed her hand under the water faucet and let the water run over her hand. "Brenda I have to go. I need to get some sleep. I have to go see that dance company tomorrow and see if they'll take me. If I get it then it'll be a lot easier to find and get auditions."

"Well good luck tomorrow. I know you'll do great. Good night."

"Good night." Amy hung up the phone and placed it on the sink. Her hand still stung but it would be fine she thought. She turned off the water facet and looked in to the mirror. Someone was staring back at her. Amy screamed and turned around quickly. No one there. She turned around back to the mirror. The person was gone. 'Sh*t' Amy thought, 'This has been one crazy night. It's just been one thing after another. Just go to bed.' Amy told herself as she put on a big shirt and climbed under the sheets. She felt a cold draft run over her face. Amy closed her eyes tightly and forced herself into a deep sleep so she wouldn't have to face anything else that night.
