Looks like someone around here is having fun! This is Sophie braving the wild waves. The water temperature was quite nice (especially for Steve, who remembers REALLY cold water in California!). This is one of the calmer days during the trip. There were a couple of days when the waves were kicking up pretty well. Nothing like the Pacific coast, though!

It's not a trip to the beach without a sand castle! Here is one of the many creations the girls made over the week. As you can see, this one's days are numbered!. |

We found a very cool kite shop on the boardwalk and decided to buy a kite. On this day, it was just windy enough to get a good kite going. This is Sarah and Steve flying our new kite!

One of the on the boardwalk we ran across a magician. Sarah is particularly found of magic, so she volunteered to help in one of his acts. Sarah is the second from the right (in the pink sweater).

On the last day of the trip, we left early from Ocean City to take a bit of a detour down to Cape May before heading home. We had a nice meal and then wandered around the town to check it out. It was nice, but we were glad we didn't end up going there for our whole vacation (too many people and not enough boardwalk!). This is a picture of Sarah outside a cool t-shirt shop that had a lot of mermaid stuff (Claudia and the girls are very much into mermaids!). After the Cape May detour, we headed home and then Steve and the girls had to "face the music" of a whole new school year! |
