Venice 2

These are the second set of shots of Venice (out of our literally HUNDREDS we snapped - gotta love the digital cameras!).

Of course, since it is Venice we have to have a shot of a gondola! We ended up NOT getting a gondola ride because it was prohibitively expensive. So, we had to settle for a picture of another group getting a ride!

Here's a really nice shot that Claudia took of a series of gondolas early in the morning (note the slight mist/fog in the background). This was not far from our hotel.

We took one full day to go to the island of Murano to see the glass museum and to get some Murano glass beads for Claudia. To get there, we took the LONG water taxi ride and got to see much of Venice from a boat. This was one of the cool shots along the way.

This is a nice shot of the Rialto Bridge during the day. Note the throng of people on the bridge (this was during the Befana gondola race).

Claudia's coup was finding this nice bead shop along the main canal in Murano. She enlisted all of our help to identify only the BEST Murano glass beads in the place!

Here are Sophie and Sarah trying to feed a pigeon. This gives a good shot of another of the main canals in Murano.

Here's a shot of Steve and the girls after a fine meal of pizza (looks like they both liked it!). This turned out to be our only repeat eatery in Venice (good food at a fair price)

Here's a view of the same spot as the night shot at the left, only during the daylight. You can see why we liked this particular spot for a meal!
