This is sort of a modern day romance. Matthew was a poor guy working in an oil mine. He met Meredith at a club party. She helped him get through the night without embarrassing himself.
She was a rich 18-year-old who has a father who does not trust her. She decided to marry Matt when she was with child. But when her father knew about it, he went to all lengths to prevent the marriage.
He was successful. Matt thought Meredith had an abortion, when Meredith almost died in a miscarriage. Meredith's father got a cheap lawyer to get a divorce.
When Matt met Meredith again, he was as rich and successful as her. He still loved her, and was reluctant to let her go when he realised that there was no abortion.
What would Meredith do? Give up her childhood sweetheart or go for the love of her life?
