Royce bore a deep hatred for Vikings as the Danes had killed his family, and raped his fiancee. But he was attracted to this one. He knew that she was a Christian just as her mother was. When he finally removed her chains, he made her swear never to escape. She was hurt when she found out that he was to marry another. She had grown to love him deeply.
When Royce was attacked by another noble, Kristen escaped to save Royce. He knew that she could have left him, but she did not. For that, he loved her even more.
But her father is on his way to Wyndhurst, and he insisted on fighting Royce... Would Royce win?
