Original game (C)

Re-engineered to C/Allegro by C.J.Pinder, 2001
Ported to OpenGL(GLUT) by Z.Aksentijevic, 2007

2007-Nov-28:
Completely re-written AI, there are now
battles going on in universe that are independent of
player, pirates attacking trader convoys, police
patrols attacking pirates or even complete war
outbreaks.... this "Elite remake" should be
in par with ArcElite (Archimedes Elite), well at
least that was my goal... but there is more,
hard-coded 7 extra missions and added many other
features that appeared in Elite remakes and some
completely new stuff, read description, hints and
tips here:

2007-November:
Compressed gameplay, should be possible to play this
"demo" to the "end" and become
ELITE in about 5-6 hours. As soon as you start the
game 1st mission begins and then 2nd, plus some new
twists and some graphics and other updates...
- "Asteroid
shower" is now 1st mission, save Lave!
- 'SPACE' toggle Planet info/Gal. chart screen
- 'z' toggle scanner zoom
- '3' when docked displays Messages screen
- Velocity lock, Sun compass
- modified scoring
- gameplay speed-up
2007-October:
Re-wrote 'gfx_' of Elite-TNK (C.Pinder) to OpenGL
(GLUT), beside sound and Allegro many other things
are gone, some things are new, everything will
eventually be re-written, but as of now
its quite playable 'BBC Elite' version of the game
with main aspects of the game untouched. 'z' key
toggles scanner zoom...
