Two local roads, Bill's Creek Rd. and Cove Rd.
run across Rutherford County with Bill's Creek Rd. ending as it intersects
Cove Road. At a middle point on Cove Rd. there is a sharp curve with an
old store and an old dirt road both named after the Hardins. Hardin's Store and
Hardin Store Road. This road goes between Cedar Creek and Cove Creek across
a low mountain ridge connecting Cove Rd. and Bill's Creek Rd. We used to
take the jeep across this old road to the waterfalls - one on each creek.
We haven't ridden this road for many years as it was gated at both ends
in 1981 and many places on the road have now grown over in trees. The only
way through now is on foot, dirtbikes or 4-wheelers.

The first part of the road is still a pretty good road for cars until you
reach the dilapidated bridge over Cedar Cr. that only 4-wheelers and
dirt bikes now use.
This is what the road looks like after crossing the bridge.

The main road curves to the left up the ridge but I follow the trail
along Cedar Creek which has lots of rhodedendron growing everywhere
even across the trail, which we have to push through.
On along the trail we come to a spot with many yucca plants. It makes
me think there may have been a house here at one time and they have
spread from there as I don't think yucca is a native plant here.
This is one thing I will have to go look up and find out about.

The trail goes along Cedar Creek aways up the fairly steep bank.
I slip down to the creek side to throw sticks and rocks for Gypsy.
After several miles we are
