THE BUFFALO

The thundering hoofs of the Buffalo once raised
clouds of dust that could be seen for miles over
the plains. At one time, 60,000,000 bison or
buffalo grazed the continent. Fabulously abundant,
they were hunted almost to extinction. We were
stirred to save them only when we were about to lose
them. Now, we have preserved a few thousand. They
are seen to the best advantage in the Yellowstone
and Wind Cave National Parks and some small herds
are preserved on private lands. Now they are in peril
even in these National Parks!

STOP THE SLAUGHTER!!!
The American Bison, in and around Yellowstone National Park,
are in desperate need of protection. I have tried to provide
links to sites that can enlighten you, sadden you,
enrage you, and hopefully, will encourage you to
write to our elected officials and let them know we will not
tolerate the slaughter of this Amercian treasure! The following
links are to pages with full information on this tragedy.
