18 kilometers from Kuantan, Pahang State, Malaysia

How to get there?

You'll have to start from Kuantan. From the town, take the road to Sungei Lembing. You will passing the intersection of the Expressway, coming from Kuala Lumpur. Continue on this country road to Sungei Lembing. Watch out for a "T" junction turning left which will join up with the present Trunk Road, Highway 2 to Kuala Lumpur. Take this road after the turning, will be quite some distance passing through Oil Palm estates. At last, some settlements and signs for a quarry. Enter the road which is in the midst of Palm Oil trees and then the works of the quarry itself. Keep to your left and the dedicated road to the Waterfall starts. Passing by an arboretum for local canes "Rotan" and crossing over the river. The car park.

If you are arriving from Kuala Lumpur on the new Expressway, after exit from the Toll, look for that road to Sungei Lembing. In the same way follow the directions to reach the Waterfalls.

The place?

While the waterfalls looked tall, broad and formidable, the place is a Park with a stream running across. There is a narrow belt where the water hits the bottom making shallow pools. You could judge from the flow of water, the low volume will not be carving large or deep pools. In one word, the place is huge. The waterfall, the area in the Park and choice of places for picnic and camping is limitless. All except the size of river, especially in drier season could not compliments its looks. Part of the installations was to have dams to build up pools for dipping. There was a suspension bridge bridge built to span the wide river basin. The flooring was damaged on a few visit I was there. To me arriving there would be to enjoy the view of this waterfall and a good rest from the noises of the city life.

What is recommended?

Since this is a very well developed public park, there was nothing out of the ordinary to explore or write about. Since you are from out of town and in Kuantan for a visit, it is some place new to visit. Just bring the family there for a day's outing.

Watch for more pictures of the place.
