VALDEZ IN SEPTEMBER.

VALDEZ IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER.

Valdez was the end of the pipeline, an ice free port loading terminal. I found myself working in temperatures around 10-15 degrees during the time that I was there. The scenery was absolutely beautiful in this part of Alaska. During my time in Valdez I was fortunate enough to see the northern lights .............. that was an awesome sight.

BARRACKS .............. MY HOME IN VALDEZ.

This picture was taken around noon time. The barracks housed around 5000 persons at this camp. We were fed only the best of food, and saw first time run movies. Just a couple of perks that they offered us for working in such an isolated area.

VALDEZ MARINA - AT CHRISTMAS.

BUSH PLANE TRANSPORTATION.

I took the milk-run home one time for R & R to view the wilderness of Alaska. We went from Valdez to Cordova to Yakutat to Juno to Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle, Washington. One thing I shall never forget about the landing in Cordova was when the bartender came out to stop the car traffic so we could land on the main road in this little town.
