Falls Cut Tunnel & Glencoe, PA October 31, 1999

NOTE! This is a very dangerous location and heavily patrolled.

Falls Cut Tunnel and 2 bridges cut through a sharp bend in Wills Creek and spur of Savage Mountain. Abutments can be viewed for the orginal alignment, two single track bridges and a deep cut.

Five locomotives led this mixed freight including these two from Union Pacific.

Wills Creek carved a sheer cliff in the side of the mountain on the west end of the tunnel. The scene kind of reminds you of a smaller version of the Narrows

This spot get tops votes for a dangerous location that warrants avoidance or extreme caution. Railroad police strictly enforce trespassing policy. The combination of a favorite party location with rock diving, alcohol, two bridges and a tunnel makes this policy understandable.

This mixed freight was ascending westbound at Glencoe later the same afternoon. An eastbound car carrier train met this train right after the crossing .
