CSX.. Cumberland to Keyser
Keyser Yard
East bound coal drag moving through what was once a large coal yard, last used in the 1980's. Downtown Keyser is to the immediate left and the North Branch of the Potomac is just to the right in the photo. In the background, the Potomac has cut through yet another mountain ridge, in this case the mighty Allegheny Front.
November 5,1999
Several years later, Keyser is starting to act like a yard again with three coal trains waiting for crowded lines. The train with the locomotives is led by Susquehanna 4052. This photo was taken 14 years from the date of the infamous Election Day Flood in 1985.
