More Brush Tunnel, October 31,1999

Brush Tunnel is one mile west of Helmstetter's

Brush Tunnel, built in 1911, would be the first of 3 tunnels on the climb up the Alleghenies.

Enginemen are careful to avoid undue smoke in the tunnel.

Although the fall colors are at peak at this elevation on October 31st, the crowds are down and the train doesn't require a helper on this Sunday.
