Jimmy Johnson
In the latter part of 1978, an Indiana minister and his congregation decided to leave civilization behind and start their own village in the wilds of Guatemala where there is no television reception and the water is pure. This humble Hoosier's name was Jimmy Johnson, and his band of misfits was known as the "Some of the People's Church."
All went well for the small group until the spring of 1980 when Rev. Johnson was accused of sodomizing a visiting Congressman's daughter. Immediately, the Rev. Johnson called together his flock and proceeded to lecture on his philosophy until all but a few of the 700 were bored to death!
Of the handful of survivors, one was quoted as saying, "That man
could go on!"
