And now, my gentle reader, let me turn you over to the capable hands of Bayushi Aramoro, who has some quite interesting information on mysterious happenings and groups...

Just what's going on these days, anyway? What with Emperor Toturi gone, and all these Kolat and Ninja about, just makes an ordinary samurai like me sort of ...worried. But I got to thinking, and it helped me discover a deep conspiracy at the heart of Rokugan's political system. You see, my friends, I know who captured Toturi. It's so obvious.

At first, I thought it to be an impossible task for someone to kidnap and replace Toturi. The people behind it would have to be real close to him. They'd have to be...Toturi's Army itself. You may laugh, but just..close your eyes and think. Who else would be able to get close enough? Mikio, his 'bodyguard' could easily slip some drugs into Toturi-sama's sake. Naka Kuro, the Grand Master of The Elements, could have the wind spirit him off to a hiding place. And all the time, it works so that THEY, the ronin, gain power and prestige.

But to what end? Why would anyone want to do such a thing? The answer, my friends, is that the Army was all but seduced into doing this by none other than ...Toturi's chancellor, Takuan. As their 'lieutenant', they obviously looked up to him, and would follow his orders. And, as any Scorpion knows, it's easy to brainwash people who trust you. Besides, Toturi was more in to this war for the throne than he was the interests of some ronin that follow him around.

And, in any sort of power play, you need someone to use as a fall guy. Well, they used my Clan, dressing some ronin up as Toturi. The Scorpion ronin probably would be a better leader than Toturi or Takuan, though. And they had Tsunari as a plant, to take out The False Toturi and let Takuan rule with an iron fist. Dark times are coming. The conspiracy might come to you, next!
